Personal Narrative: Rokbar In Hamilton

Decent Essays
The first time I saw him, we were at Rokbar in Hamilton. I remember glancing over at him and thinking, Oh, wow, he’s cute. Then he walked over and asked if I wanted to dance. We spent the rest of the night together, dancing away and enjoying each others company. We parted ways, neither of us knowing where this would eventually lead. A week later we had lunch together and that was the point we both knew there was something special. Five years later, he is still my favorite person in the world and I cannot wait to become his wife.

When i was younger i used to live at Christopher Lake I spent a lot of my childhood there. There's not much i remember from when i was young, But i remember meeting a guy named Drewe when i was 10 or 11, He was tall for his age with short brown hair and Hazel eyes. He sat next to me and he was pretty funny so we quickly became friends, as we got to know each other better we realized we liked pretty much the exact same things and got along very well. We lived fairly close to each other so we spent a lot of time back and forth between houses. He lived close to a lake and i was morso in the forest so we would switch houses every weekend and explore the area around our houses and hunt for rabbits until we had to go home.…

Every girl growing up has someone she loves at first sight; someone that instantly becomes a huge part of her life. When I say love at first sight, it’s not always about a lover. It can be someone you are just absolutely infatuated with, or a role model. I was fortunate enough to find a role model who truly makes me feel like an important piece to the puzzle of life. That role model is Jill Cochran, PhD, APRN-FNP.…

“If I were Shannon Miller this would not happen,” I often thought as I positioned my body onto the bar. I hated heights and even being a few feet in the air on the highest uneven bar unsettled me. It seemed as if I were on the peak of a mountain top and my oxygen supply was thinning out. Each exhale made me dizzier and before you know it, I would be climbing down in a hurry, anxious to see my score even though I knew it would be low. I hated the fear I felt about practicing on the bars and how I believed that I would end up like my older teammate Chanel, who recently had surgery on both of her knees due to an awful fall in the last competition.…

Barbecue sauce mixed with morning dew smeared across the endless rows of white tables was the first sight that greeted the volunteers of the Burlington Ribfest. It was the first image that my best friend and I could not help, but commit to memory. Eager as we both were to get volunteer hours, I signed us up for multiple shifts as part of the ECO recycling team, totaling up to 12 hours. Little did I know, this adventure would change me in a way only direct experience could.…

¨When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew¨, (William Shakespeare). Is awesome how some people, moments, and memories can become important in our life. Such as meeting your love life is wonderful, but even more if you remember every second of memories you have lived with that special person. In my case, when I first meet Juan Garcia I never realized how special he was going to be in my life.…

Piles of homework, memorized scripts, complicated blocking, sweaty costumes, quick meals, and exhaustion beyond comprehension are all part of my life. A typical day is 7 hours of school, 4 hours of rehearsal, and 3 hours of homework which all equates to long and exhausting 14 hour days. Time management is skill that was forced upon me to keep me swimming through high school. I have spent more hours inside my school’s auditorium than I have in some of the classroom. Thankfully, my classes have all been equipped with the necessary materials for me to excel.…

I think of the friends I’ve made, the teachers I’ve had, and the time I dedicated to my school. It was one of those super cold Sundays when I woke up to the sound of Momma sobbing. I jumped off the top of my bunk-bed that I shared with my little brother Kenny and checked on the bottom bunk to make sure that nothing had happened to him. He was lying there fast asleep. I could never understand how he could sleep through Momma’s crying and Joey’s sleep screams and yells that sounded usually like, “Don’t take him away” and “Oww! Stop!…

Me and my best friend Khalil actually meet and became friends in the six grade and after 8 years we still are. When we first meet we didn 't get along nor considered one another as friends, we budded heads very often, only after we were the only two kids in class left without partner for a social studies fair project we put aside our differences and worked together and did well on our project and became very good friend. We first met each other at Pesson elementary where we both attended our sixth graded year.
