Pop! Pop! Pop! Our ears started popping because of the elevation and pressure change. My mom asked me if I wanted a piece of gum because of the cabin pressure. I said no because I don’t want to have to throw away later but as the plane begin to smooth out, the pressure in the cabin went away. At that height the sky was like a dream and the ground below looked like a tiny world. I got tired of looking out the window and pulled out my purse that had some of the most important things that I had, my phone, headphones, money and a charger. I pull out my phone, no service. My mom pulls out her purse to put her ID back from the identification scan counter. When she pulls out her wallet she notices something that would change the trip because she forgot all of her credit and debit cards at the house. At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices.
