Road Trip

Crash! White caps went as they crashed up against the moss covered rocks. We had just arrived at Johnson Shut-Ins in Saint Louis, Missouri. I was seven, my cousin Brooke was 18 and my cousin Luke was 13. My family was on a summer vacation to go see my family. It was like an oven so my Aunt and Uncle decided to take us to Johnson Shut-Ins

Chapter One
When we pulled into Johnson Shut-Ins all eight of us got out of our two cars. Four of us were in my Dad´s truck and four of us were in my Aunt's van. After we got on our sunscreen and water shoes, we went inside. I said ,¨LET'S GO¨ so many times I got in trouble. Woops! I had never been there before so I was really excited, I didn't know what to expect. I thought it was a water park but the person at the admissions told us that it is a fish free river because miles up there is a restraining wall that has a bunch of tiny holes that are about to inches in diameter so fish can’t swim in. Chapter Two

I fell A LOT but it didn’t hurt because the rocks weren’t sharp. One thing that did hurt though was getting pinched by a crawdad. I started to bleed. That thing gave me a scar on my knee. After a while my cousin Brooke asked me if i want to go and jump off of a cliff. “Sure?!” I said sounding like I was a little bit nervous. After I went I didn’t want to stop. Finally Brooke said,”Let’s go back and see what the rest of the family is doing now.” “I’m HUNGRY” I said. “Well then let’s go eat.” All my family

A good childhood is a fundamental aspect of a child's future; their happiness, health and how motivated they will be in life depends on how they were raised. A lack of proper nurturing may have dire effects. It is common for people to put up a front and act very confident, whilst truly having a very low self-esteem. People with a low self-esteem who have not been brought up correctly have a stronger possibility of being substance abusers. In Joseph Boyden's Three Day Road, Elijah Weesageechak lives a vastly troubled life, which ultimately leads to his demise.…

Sit back, buckle up, and get ready to scream because I love roller coasters. My family and I go to Cedar Point about every month in the summer, and my dad and I go and ride everything in the park. It is just so fun! The one thing I really like about roller coasters is that there are little rides for the youth kids also. My least favorite thing is when I am not tall enough to enjoy a ride, which doesn’t really occur anymore.…

When I ride it's like the earth stops at every corner so I can check to make sure a, loud, car isn't roaring towards me. It's like that feeling in your chest that tells you that everything is going to be ok, yet your mind is screaming at you that it won't be. I ride because I was thought that you need to be active in life, but it was never about the one hour of activity time we are supposed to have growing up. it was much more than that. I didn't need help to ride, I needed help to face down my enemies, or conquer my dreams.…

My own riding career thus far had been a roller coaster ride, tendency to second guess myself battled continually with my natural instincts. Over thinking things led me to over riding, and my mixed signals led my horse to produce ignorance. My consistence hesitation caused my horse and I to become mentally stuck. Each lesson was an interminable cycle of frustration, never reaching nirvana. Riding requires both horse and rider to become one.…

The road most people in my community go down you shouldn't expect me to writing this. My family doesn't have the most money in the world and we don't have the most opportunities here. My hometown is one of the poorest in the country and many people would expect me to just quit school and get a job to support my family, but that was not the case with me. I pushed myself to achieve something greater than what others around me have done. I didn't want to fall into the stereotype that because I am part Mexican I’m lazy or just another trouble maker because I'm not that!…
