As he finished the final kilometre of his run, he felt the wind rushing against him, as if challenging him to go faster. Oliver decided to take a shower to try and clear his head. As the water rushed down his body, he realized that any day could easily be his last.
Inka had left the city for a few weeks with family on a vacation. After a few minutes of thinking, Oliver decided to write a letter to Inka. As he got out of the shower, his mind raced with ideas. After drying himself off and putting on some clothes, he grabbed a pen and began, “Inka, . . .”

A million thoughts will race through my head, Is it her radiant smile, is it her cheerfulness, her charisma? Should I go with a cliché and say her eyes? It is difficult to decide, but for me, it is that you are my definition of beauty, inside and out, and your worth cannot be compared. I love the way you twirl your hair, the way you are when no one is

Although it marked the beginning of summer, the night was unusually cool and breezy. As Sarah and Nicky moved past several local shops, the sinfully delectable smell of Maryland crab cakes, charbroiled steaks, and freshly baked desserts engulfed the neighborhood. Across the street, the sound of light jazz flowed effortlessly from Sam's Music Store. Dining alfresco, engaging in conversation, restaurant patrons filled the air with hearty laughter. Window-shopping from one store to the next, couples strolled hand-in-hand along the busy, congested sidewalk.…

As a child growing up with a mother who loves 80’s pop music, I remember sitting in the back of the car dreading the songs, I was about five years old and I didn’t understand why I did not like everybody have fun tonight, and other cheesy songs from that time period, the only ones I did care for where Phil Collins, Journey, and Bryan Adams. I enjoyed music that had a rock theme behind it, I loved guitar solos and now as an adult, I appreciate high notes coming from the lead singer of Journey. My mom pointed out as a child she knew I would be into rock music just by the way I would get excited if I saw it on tv, and when I was 14 she took me to my first rock concert which was Green Day, she thought she was going to hate the whole show, but…
