On Friday, October 10, 2015 at approximately 0243 hours, Conyers Communications advised me that Rockdale County Sheriff Deputies noticed a vehicle in the ditch on Salem Road just before Gees Mills intersection.
I arrived to the location and noticed that the vehicle hit the embankment, struck a mail box and landed approximately 20 feet in the ditch. The vehicle was not occupied therefore; I asked who is the driver of the vehicle was. The driver identified herself as Monica Bettis.
Bettis stated she tried to avoid a deer and lost control of the vehicle. I retraced the the skid marks and noticed that the skids marks started in the curve section of Sigman Road.

I asked Bettis if she had any injuries that would keep him from being able to walk or stand on one foot. Bettis advised she had no such injuries and consented to the tests. My emergency lights were turned off prior to testing.
The first test was Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus - Bettis was wearing glasses. I asked Bettis could she see my finger approximately 6in from her face without her glasses and she stated “yes”. Bettis’ eyes were brown in color. Both eyes had equal pupil size and tracking. Both eyes were positive for lack of smooth pursuit. Both eyes were positive for distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation. Both eyes were negative for nystagmus prior to 45

After reviewing all the evidence I have come to the conclusion that Matthew Maloy Murdered Robert Burlington. I have come to this conclusion using entomology and through the use of fingerprint, blood, tire track, and hair analysis. The fingerprint tests´ showed us that the only people who touched the bloody tire iron were Nicole Burlington and Matthew Maloy. Nicole Burlington is the spouse of the victim so her touching the item is reasonable but Matthew Maloy touching it is strange especially because we later learned Matthew Maloy shares the same blood type found on the tire iron meaning this was possibly the murder weapon.…
