The organization had: set up playhouse for children, invited community leaders and citizens to speak about one common topic: cancer, and gave free foods and beverages for everyone. Among the speakers that spoke that weekend, many people were working parents who struggled to overcome the life-threaten disease. Their perseverance to live joyfully amazed me.
The reason these people were content in their lives was due to American Cancer Society being conscientious toward them when the patients needed the most. When these families needed a place to laugh, American Cancer Society created Relay For Life events throughout the country. When the patients need expenses treatment, the organization give out affordable plans for the patient’s family to afford it. Since American Cancer Society has created and has sponsored these type of activities at a public school, it demonstrates how both the government and non-profit organization care for the communities and their lives. The government is willing to give American Cancer Society the entire track and field and the whole weekend to create an amazing life changing experience has proven how involve government officials do care about the people. The reason the government and non-profit organization care about the communities’ health so much is because if everyone is healthy and happy, then there will be more working people contributing to the country’s revenue and prosper the U.S’s reputation.
