Clarence, I agree with you completely that older generations follow the motto “a hard day’s work for an honest day’s pay”. I work with a few older employees and they work 5x harder than some of the younger employees I work with. I also received a 35 on my EI test which I was not surprised of either. I have a very high work ethic and have very little time for play in my job. I do need to learn to put myself in others shoes; sometimes this is very hard for me to do.…

I have always been interested in learning and using new ideas. Throughout my life, I have invariably drawn from my life experiences, newly learned ideas and my continuing education to help problem-solve sensibly and realistically allowing me to move forward or help others reach their goals. Although I have no formal teaching experience, in my past work and involvement in organized sports, I have repeatedly used the Progressive philosophy. When dealing with 13 & 14 year olds many situations arise such as bullying, personality clashes or simply not understanding a drill or play. I deal with these situations by asking questions to stimulate a discussion, allowing them to draw on past experiences; positive or negative, consequently allowing them to come up with a solution or grasp the knowledge they are seeking.…

My response to this selection is that Hornak made right decision, even though it took her long time to realize, but it would be hard for me If I were to change my career. During my time at Goodyear, I had received many anonymous note, some serious, some not, but I had never received a note like this before. Somebody had listed my name, and the names of the other three tire managers, with the salary next to each name. I had always worried about being paid less than the men for the same work, but I never had any proof. I was kind of like a wife, nursing a nagging suspicion that her husband was having an affair, with no evidence. But then in 1998 nearly two decades after I began working there, there it was in plain black ink what I had always feared.…
