How are you today, Quinn? We haven’t talked in awhile. I think that I get to come to the hospital after school today. I can’t wait to see you. Text me back when you get this. Love Summer I sent the text as I was walking out the door to meet the school bus. Quinn is my all time best friend, but lately its been a little bit different she has *cancer and has been in the hospital for the past one week. I miss her a lot like no one would ever understand.

I know that I sound bad, but it is only the truth. I walk over to the table in front of the library doors where all of mine and Quinn’s friends are sitting. We are all talking when all of a sudden we hear a loud BUZZBUZZBUZZ. Everyone looks around until I realize that it is my phone down in my bag. I pull it out to see a new text from Quinn. I get this big stupid grin on my face. Hey I miss you too. I really hope you can come this afternoon. I have another round of chemo at noon so you will have to wash up and wear a mask around me, but it will still be nice to see you. As I finish reading the text everyone is asking who it is.
“It is Quinn she just texted me back. I am going to see her after school.”
Okay, well you know that I am perfectly fine with that as long as I get to see you. I hope everything goes okay. Text me at 3:00. I sent the text and then come back into reality as everyone is asking question.
“Oh, awesome can I come to,” someone says as I finish.
“Yea, me too,” says another

Today, June 18th, 2017, marks the last day of my first week of college at Paul Quinn College and I am proud to say, “I survived”. Committing to Paul Quinn was a really big decision for me because this school is a 17 hour drive away from my home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. I was afraid that I might get homesick or that I would not have the support of my family because I would be so far away from home. Soon, after visiting the Dallas campus, I realized that Paul Quinn was the school for me. This is the school where I will grow as an individual and I have come to that realization in my first week of college through the many conversations with upperclassmen, faculty, alumni and summer bridge students.…

Please bear with me if this is corny and you know I’ m weird with expressing feelings but here … So I guess you could get the credit for this, especially since you were “curved” at homecoming around this time last year and you constantly made your efforts to make sure I remembered who you were after that.
