What I find beautiful is something that catches my attention. Say I am walking down the street and see a mural of some sort; I am not going to stop and take a break for just any painting. I stop and look because it catches my attention. Usually being something that I am interested in. Going with that it has to catch my emotions. If it is a happy painting or a sad painting, either in my eyes can be beautiful. If it is trying to portray something meaningful through their artwork using emotions. Another thing that I find makes something beautiful is if it catches my eye and want to look at it even with our busy lives running around. Which this still ties in with the first, but is still important. Last and I think is most important is that it has …show more content…
The purpose of the artwork is that it is trying to get people to comprehend that global warming is actually happening even if we say it is not. There is nowhere for the polar bear to go to because all of the ice is melted around him. This is a powerful photograph proving to people all around the world that it is happening. The sad part is, it only works on a small amount of people. We are so in tune with our lives that we feel sad for two minutes and the next we move on to the next thing. The composition of the artwork is a photograph. It is showing that the polar bear has nowhere to go. The photographer used a certain perspective. With that being said she uses something called a vanishing point to represent the farness that the bear is to everything else. The polar bear is the first thing your eyes are drawn to, which I think is the whole purpose of the photo. I think we should pay most attention to the vast area of the water around the polar bear. The water goes on and on with the next ice out of reach. I have kind of said what this photo means but to me it really hits a spot with him hence the reason I picked the photo. I think the artwork is trying to say, “pay attention to what is going on around you”. “I am out here dying while you are on your way to work in your car”. I mean I guess you wouldn’t have to go quite that far but it is showing us that global warming is happening. As I was reading in the book this photo was big for environmentalist, which I completely understand, it is sad to see this happening. Many people probably do not care about this artwork because as you know many people do not believe global warming is happening. People should care about this artwork because it is important for our kids and next generations to realize it is happening like it or not. This artwork has a powerful meaning and I wish more people would understand

Do we dare touch such a fragile ecosystem that could never resurrect itself just because “gas prices are too high?” Is mankind so greedy and superficial that we have to take away one the most vast and unique areas of the world just for our own benefit? The passage paints a picture of a dark sky, lit only by the light of the full moon, reflecting off of the snow. In describing the setting as “at night under the full moon,” with the additional detail of “the black-striped snow” Munro sets a scene that would seemingly be represented in black and white alone, whether by choice of the filmmakers, or the lack of viable palette variety. This passage could hardly be any more contrasted with…

Jim Morrison once quoted “Whoever controls the media, controls the mind.” To illustrate, about one in two people worldwide follow the news daily, therefore, is it safe to assume that we are being brainwashed? Perhaps the secret lies in the word, bias. Bias is a prejudice towards a certain side to an argument, when used in media, it can change the way information is perceived. By way of example, Photographer of ‘horrible thin’ polar bear hopes to inspire climate change fight (CBC) is far more biased towards fighting climate change than, Photographing skinny polar bears: First person (OD news) by title and contexts.…

Located in Northeastern Alaska, United States, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of the areas used to protect and conserve America’s wildlife and plants. It is the largest Wildlife Refuge in the country at 19,286,722 acres. For more than over a decade there has been political debates about whether or not there should be drilling for oil on the coastal plains. Oil drilling cause’s damage to the wildlife there and cause for animals to become extinct. I think that there should not be any drilling for oil on the refuge because it’s harmful to the wildlife living there and there are already enough threats to wildlife.…

An exampled of imagery from his novel is, "A moment later, the legendary Snow Queen appeared on a white sleigh pulled down the creek by two monstrous bears. " This quote lets the reader imagine the Snow Queen (who was described in an earlier part of the book), being in control of two huge, wild polar bears, while she's on a white sleigh. Colfer even describes the color of the sleigh to give the reader a more cold and winter-like tone.…

The photo does a good job of focusing on the main points in the image. I think that the photographer emphasized on the ice because it was the main aspect in the picture. He focused on the ice so when you look at the photo, your first glance goes straight to the bright white ice. Then you look to the man. The man and the ice are the main attractions.…

    The Scream Poem Analysis

“The Scream” I really like this painting because somehow it involves mystery and insecurity and to my eyes, the rare views in it reflect a sense of how deep the feelings and thoughts of a person can be. In addition, the fact that the composition does not allow viewers to appreciate the face of the screaming person, is what has drawn me to it. Even though it seems to be that it was a lovely afternoon for everyone, it seems that it was not for the scared looking person. Although two boats are seen on the lake and two people walking very pleasingly behind, the scared looking person seems to be astonished and perhaps confused toward something. Hence, looking at this mysterious individual posing his hands on his face with his mouth open has given me the impression that he or she is appreciating something non real that no one else is able to notice; no one but him.…
