Jonas Brothers When I was about ten years old, I was in love with the Jonas Brothers. I had over one hundred and forty- three pictures and posters on my bedroom wall at one point. I owned all of their CD’s and even had the Jonas Brothers book. Although I am not on bit embarrassed about liking the Jonas Brothers in the in the past, I am a bit embarrassed about my recent obsession with them.…
“Congratulations to Ryan Turner for the”…. I’m sure you're wondering, wow what did he win. Well Ill tell you exactly what it is, but first i'm going to give you a little run through on how it all started so you know how much hard work it took. So It all started in Oceanport, New Jersey the place where I grew up.…
I am Shelby Cope and I am from the Early College here on Campus. I have little experience with music. I do know how to read music and sing. I participated in chorus all throughout middle school. During this time our school’s band and chorus traveled to Seaworld and performed for the guest.…
"This life is a precious gift." The Lonely Island Band captures the essence of life for the youthful and daring or the aging and reckless. I enjoy being around family and friends. I care about music, television, and movies; sometimes I like to look for a deep message that most people overlook. I love the human will to survive when pushed to the limits; everyone has an instinct to survive.…
My heart was pounding so quickly I thought it was going to fly out of my chest. I’ve been waiting almost a month for this and it’s finally happening. I was at The Who concert. My mom told me to pick something fun to do as a graduation present and as soon as I saw the concert online I knew this was the one.…
Of the selections provided to us for discussion I use Pandora radio the most. I use it to play music every time I drive my car to provide me with the music I like to listen to. I connect to my stereo in my car using the Bluetooth application on the stereo and my phone to provide me with that service. Another place that I use Pandora radio is in my house. I am able to connect to Pandora thru my Blu-ray player.…
One night my friend Andrew McBride had a party at Hampton Inn. As soon as we got there we jumped into the pool. Me, Jordan, Dalton, Aidan,Ty,Andrew, Sam, and Landen were all there. We went into the hot-tub and back into the pool. After that we went upstairs to our room and ate Razorback Pizza and Cookie Cake.…
“Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence” -Colin Powell. I will never forget when I was awarded one of the two “Most Outstanding Musician” awards when I was a 7th grader at Neil Armstrong Middle School.…
The screeching of my violin echoed off the wall as I struggled to play Mendelssohn's concerto in E minor. The double stops that were meant to flow in harmony came out in a jumbled mass of notes indistinguishable from the shriek of a dying cow. I whimpered as these terrible sounds emitted out of my violin, and threw my violin down in defeat. I slowly tilted my head towards the clock, a terrifying reminder that my addition was only 10 min away. I gathered up my music, and ambled away from the empty practice room to where my judge would listen to my audition.…
These were on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. The album as a whole I will rank at the end after presenting all my points. Country music it's beautiful when sung right and no it's not just about cheating on your wife and drinking beer. Justin does a pretty good job presenting himself in the country manner he goes slow enough to where you can always understand him and has that slow southern drawl.…
Many of us can look back on our adolescence and be mortified by some of the interests and choices we made. Our adult brains make us wonder what we were thinking when we chose to listen to same song on repeat from a band that we now can’t believe we liked. In my case, I can think back to a few musicians I had once loved and now listen in confusion at their appeal and ponder how it was that my mother did not go crazy. The quality of vehicle allows me to make trips and travel while only having the option of listening to the radio. Sometimes, I spend an entire trek searching for a song I like and occasionally come up short.…
Why I Sing Chaeley Winkler I cannot remember a time when I wasn’t singing. Of course, I know there was time before I could speak or burble as infants do, so there must have existed a certain silence before sound, however the mere thought of being so silent—unable to reach out with voice or touch—disturbs me to no end. But these thoughts of a time before sound hadn’t quite crossed my mind until I began to question the finer, tinier oddities in my life. These questions emerged at around the age of seven, before they had manifested as inner thoughts.…
The spotlight is in my eyes. The hubbub dies down to an anticipatory, judgmental silence, daring me to break it. I look back, making sure the band is ready. Thumbs up: it’s time to roll. I tap my foot to the rhythm.…
Everyone likes their own music. Some people might like Rock, Jazz or even both. But the music that you might like now might change over time and as you mature, or you might still like the same music but you also start listening to other types of music. In the early years of my life, my mother would sing me this Spanish lullaby called “Ale Roo” that she used to debilitate my anger and sorrow.…
The Plane Ride When I was nine my family started a move from the tranquil suburbs of San Jose, California to the desert city of Windhoek, Namibia, located in southern Africa. My parents were taking myself, along with my younger sister and brother, around the globe because they felt a calling from God to be missionaries. All of our possessions were sold off, including my much beloved toys, until everything we had could fit into eight large suitcases. These suitcases are what we carried to the airport as we prepared for our journey. I felt no small amount of apprehension and excitement in what lay ahead of me in the new country, but an event I would experience in the coming flight would forever change and shape my perspective of how I see the…
