My grandma and I have always had a strong relationship, she knew what I truly enjoyed. I received a book from here that I would hold deeply to me the rest of my life—Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief. My grandma knew how much I enjoyed an action filled adrenaline rushing story line. More importantly, she knew how it would affect my life for the better. Receiving The Lightning Thief did not excite me at the moment, but it eventually came to grow on me. I remember opening that first page and starting that first paragraph and it had me hooked. The book portrays its characters in such a descriptive way. For weeks after, I remember wanting to be brave and heroic, just like Percy Jackson; this was ultimately my grandma's goal.
