Personal Narrative: Pennsylvania State Meet

States. It was all I could think about since the outdoor track season commenced. Qualifying for the Pennsylvania State Meet had been my ultimate goal for as long as I could remember. Just imagining myself in the ranks with such elite athletes was enough to get me excited. There was just one final hurdle to jump: placing in the District 1 meet. I watched as the sun rose up and illuminated the cloudless sky, while plopping down on the bleachers along with my team. The District meet had finally arrived.
“Coach Terry, may I look at the heat sheet when you’re done?” I asked.
