Personal Narrative-Paid On The Bus

Improved Essays
I wake up relaxed and calm, but then I remember that I have school. I am absolutely deriding getting on that bus. I get out of bed and slowly walk to the shower thinking about what I am going to do to defend myself against Tyrone. I turn the shower nozzle there’s no hot water I’ll just have to have a cold. I get out of the shower and put my uniform on and then grab a banana as I head out the door to the bus stop.
As I am walking down to the bus stop I see the bus go flying fast so I chase the bus but the driver just ignores me oh no I’ve missed the bus!!! I check the bus schedule and the next bus is coming in 30 minutes as I am waiting for the bus a group of kids approach me I feel very intimidated. They scream something at me, I’m not sure

Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. It was a gloomy day from it being so cloudy and cold. I was talked into walking home during school by friends whom, at the time didn't care about school as much as I did, cared nothing of school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

We figured that my niece would have to see the error of her ways, get help, take classes, go to group therapy sessions, find a job and conquer her case plan. How long could that possibly take six months? The good news was that my sister who is the children’s Grandmother would be there to help us, getting the babies from daycare and coming home to help out while I juggled homework. We had it all planned out. My father, husband and I took turns taking my niece to her court dates and classes.…

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

30 Day Expense Tracking Essay To begin, I didn’t know what to expect from doing this expense tracking assignment. The only challenge I faced was trying to remember about the worksheet throughout these 30 days. Luckily I have a great memory of what I’ve done in past days only when it comes down to what I've used my money on. Well, the assignment did get me to finally notice what I did use my money for and how wisely it was used. To end it off, this assignment was something very unusual to any other assignment that I had because I never been given a task to keep track of what I use my money on.…

I believe that my personal background, and my success despite the adversity that I have faced is an essential part of who I am. The first of my struggles came from being born to two teenage parents without at least a high school education, and although my mother went on to get a GED and to college my father did not. Many people in my family had issues with substance abuse and addictions including my father. Although, I was raised by my mother and grandmother, my father’s actions and behaviors negatively impacted my life. My father was verbally and mentally abusive to the people around him, especially when he used alcohol.…

It is not the easiest to find something good to do with a dollar. You can’t even buy anything at the Dollar Tree because with tax, you are spending $1.07. You could buy a Ricker’s soda, I guess, but that’s not really going to make an impact on anyone’s life. With my dollar, I decided to exchange it for one hundred pennies at Payless.…

In my perspective, as a 16 year old girl, I think that the Earth owns us. I like to think of the Earth a buffet, and the people in the buffet keep going back for more and more seconds. Looking back through the lessons and topics we’ve discussed over the past couple weeks, I find it very interesting that I have been overlooking myself. I have been proved time and time again that I too, am a wasteful, materialistic, consumer. But how can I help it?…

The road most people in my community go down you shouldn't expect me to writing this. My family doesn't have the most money in the world and we don't have the most opportunities here. My hometown is one of the poorest in the country and many people would expect me to just quit school and get a job to support my family, but that was not the case with me. I pushed myself to achieve something greater than what others around me have done. I didn't want to fall into the stereotype that because I am part Mexican I’m lazy or just another trouble maker because I'm not that!…
