I panicked and asked what happened. The nurse taking care of me explained they needed to put a titanium bar in my leg along with 6 screws to hold my tibia and fibula together. Obviously it was quite shocking, it’s not so often that you’d think a simple slip of the foot could do so much damage. No more skating, no more running, no more walking for a while. This was quite arduous to think about considering skating was how I coped with issues that go on. My healing process has taught me to be patient, to accept the things that happen to me, to understand anything can happen, and to be okay with the way my life has changed now. March 1st was the day my surgeon told me I could run again and be fully active after 8 months brimming with physical therapy, monthly checkups, along with unexpected sharp pains in my joints and incision area. This event has changed me in a positive way and taught me a few valuable lessons and i’m grateful for this change and
