Personal Narrative: Overcoming Adversity

A time in my life when I had to overcome adversity was when I was in the second, third, and fourth grade. Everybody used to say I look like a boy and I have a deep voice for a girl. It made me not like myself, the way I looked atleast, and less of a person as if I was empty inside.
When it came time that I felt like I should talk to someone I did not because I felt it was nothing they could do for me. All grown ups just say is kids will be kids. My passion in life is basketball; I just love it so much. Nobody understands how much sweat and time I have put in my game. From playing basketball on a crate in the backyard to playing on the court my love for basketball is endless. Another passion I have is to be successful in everything I do, I know you cannot win in everything but failure is not an option for me. My goals in life are to complete four years of college or more. I want to major in Business Management or Sports Management, after that I want to graduate, get a well paid job, and live a great life no matter what so I can be the best person I can be.
My motivation is striving for greatness. I want to make everyone proud of me and let them realize I really am the person they knew I could be. My main motivation is my mom because she supports me in everything I do and I just want to see her happy. Also because she deserves that from me because I put her through a lot and just to see her beautiful smile and feel her warm hug is worth

We may want to become a high-level athlete because we are inspired by our favorite athletes. Other examples of this include wanting to get a high paying job because we grew up in poverty and doing well in school so we can escape living in a bad neighborhood as well as coming back to that neighborhood when we are successful to show the children that it can be done and motivate them to achieve similar goals.
