Personal Narrative: Out Of Negative Experiences

Decent Essays
I had some different ideas about what to write in my narrative essay. The main topic that illustrate me its “out of negative experiences, good things can happen”. I had some negative experiences over the years and that had positive outcomes. For example hating my job, unhealthy relationships, trying to please people, and letting others decide things for me. Hating my job would be mostly be about how much time it demanded from me that I turned in late work to my teachers but show me that what I was doing was making people smile. Unhealthy relationship was one of the most terrible experiences I ever had, I was unhappy with the person I thought I love. There was too much drama, be both cheated in each other, and we were unhappy. The only good thing that happened was that it showed me how to change the pattern of my behavior. …show more content…
I would say yes when I really wanted to say no to everyone but I felt like it was my obligation to say yes. The only positive thing that happened from that terrible experienced would be that I had more confidence on myself saying no. The main point about this topic it’s too showed that negatives experiences can have positive outcomes even in the worse moments. Dialogue it’s about having a conversation between two or more people; sometimes it can be about exchanging ideas or opinions on a issue. The type of dialogue that I would be using on my story to have the reader attention would be inner dialogue. This dialogue will show the reader what I am thinking or saying about by using italics or

I appreciate receiving constructive feedback, since this criticism is valuable for me improving from my mistakes. Recently, I had been a leader of a group with whom I had worked on developing a new soda brand, for our entry in the Coca Cola sponsored, World Series of Innovation Competition. Being leader of this team, I encouraged my team to be open and give me their best suggestions. In this process I received positive criticism for my approach in leadership, feedback that I can apply to become a better leader. My group informed me that I took too much initiative to complete the unfinished tasks of some participants, rather than encouraging them to do this work themselves.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

It is the morning of July 4th, 2008: I groan as my mother gently whispers, “teneshi yene mar (Get up honey)”. Struggling I open my eyes and notice the trembling cabin, I turn to my mother with a look of concern and she reaches out her hand and squeezes my own looking up at me, “we are going to be okay Mar”. A couple of moments later our plane has landed, we gather up our belongings and make our way towards the exit filled with people attached to their screens and MP3 players. The airport is filled with an undercurrent of anticipation, impatience, and boredom; bodies scramble back and forth from one gate to another. My mother, attempting to balance three children, clasps my hand, holds my little brother to her waist and calls back to my older…

Overcoming my Struggles As a little boy, going to bed was the best part of the night. It is when your eyes are hanging low and you are doing everything you can to stay awake to hear a story that your mother reads to you before she tucks you in bed. Hearing and understanding words as a little boy was not that hard for me. I could comprehend words and say them, but as I started to go to school my parents knew something was not right. In my opinion, my struggles with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) continue to be a challenge with the struggles I had before I found out about my diagnoses, finding out about my Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) changing the way I did things, and continuing to overcome my challenges I have with Attention Deficit…

Coming to Carleton in September I thought I had a decent grasp on general business know how and how business worked, but after taking this course I have learned how little I knew, and how much there was for me to learn. So far in the course I would say I have learned a ridiculous amount, from business language to the skills you need to have a successful interview. In this memo, I will be covering a number of lessons I have learned, and these fall into three categories. The first being what I learned from the course, mostly what I learned in lectures and doing Learnsmart questions. These lessons have been predominantly the knowledge I have acquired through the professor and the textbook.…
