Personal Narrative: One Direction

Last year I got the chance to see One Direction live in Nashville. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think about getting the opportunity to see them in person instead of on a screen. I guess really do come true! Having to wait from Christmas, the year before, to August 19, 2014 was extremely hard for me. My parents kept telling me that if I didn’t keep my grades up, they were going to sell my ticket. Guess I proved them wrong because I still got to go. After counting down the days, the day had finally arrived. I had gotten checked out of school, went home and packed an overnight bag, and got back in the car along with my sister Katy and my dad.

Arriving at LP Field, recently named Nissan Stadium, was a major pain in the butt. One word, TRAFFIC. When we finally made it into the parking lot, trying to find a spot was a bit of a challenge. Luckily, we managed to find one somewhat close to the entrance of the stadium. Once inside we were immediately surrounded by thousands of teenage girls trying to find their seats. Lines for the restroom, concessions, and the merchandise stand. Let me tell you that when you get thousands of teenage girls in a corridor, it gets hot fast and very claustrophobic. Not to mention that it was already humid outside.

Tour t-shirts are ridicously expensive, $40 to be exact. Total my dad spent $80 for two t-shirts. After that we found our seats. They weren’t perfect but at least I could see the stage. Now all I have to do is wait for seven o’clock to come around. If you don’t know what that’s like, think about waiting in line at a store on Black Friday. You grow impatient really fast. But it was all worth it since I have been a fan of One Direction since 2010 and this is my first time seeing them

All I had to hear really was the free hotdogs…

We were going to hear them sing, to us, and it was amazing. When you think about seeing someone in concert you think about someone you have been dying to see. The night before we left for Shakopee, I studied the bands, what kind of music they played and what they sounded like. Very few of them became favorites, as I am very picky the kind of music I listen to. I was scared because I was still fairly new to this, but by the end of the night I wasn’t scared…

Their style of music is so unlike any other group that they were put in the genre of alternative because even though its rap, it is not just the average rap. Some songs are slower, and they don’t always rhyme. This makes them unique causing them to stand out among other groups. Tickets were kind of difficult to get because it was so close to the concert, but they were some of the best seats I’ve ever had at a concert. We didn’t feel like finding a parking spot at the Moda Center so we decided to take the Tri-met, which was my first time ever on it. It was a lot nicer than the one in Arizona and we laughed and talked about our day. We got there about 45 minutes before the opening act, Slydigs, began and she bought…

2016 was the first year in the new stadium, what an amazing piece of art. Its beautiful inside and out. I'm so lucky that I get to be there during games, learning new things every time. Being at the game is different then watching it on Tv. That's also where I've learned new things, like as soon as the play starts the music in the stadium has to shut off because there can only be natural noise during the live broadcast.…

This lasted about twenty minutes because I could not enjoy the concert because people were fighting, throwing up, falling down, and being loud and ignorant. My friends that rode with me to the concert also wanted to move away from all of the chaos. We decided to move to the section where the families were and we enjoyed the concert better where we were compared to the section of chaos. Once we moved sections I really enjoyed my first concert at Walnut Creek…

Today I went to Holiday in Whoville concert with Kelly together. It is really a very good experience for me because this concert is very different than other concerts that I have been before. Compare to other concerts this concert is more like a big party for me. When the singers sing the songs on the stage, all the audience can sing along with them together. In addition, because it is almost Christmas so all the songs are relevant to Christmas.…

St. Anne’s Angle Church is a beautiful church.
