Zaboosh
I was packing up all my belongings at home, planet Zaboosh. I packed up my boots, toothbrush, and my hats. We are all pigs on planet Zaboosh, so we have a tradition that when you get old enough and mature enough you get to mover to earth, but if you don’t like it you can move back. I was really excited to see all the others animals at earth because all I see is pigs.
I wobbled to my spaceship to leave Zaboosh. I waved bye to my family and we took off. I have never been on a spaceship before I saw a lot of stars, and other planets very far away. When we landed it made a really big sound and dirt was flying everywhere.
I got off the spaceship and I saw the farmer. He guided me to the farm. The farmer had a red plaid shirt with suspenders, blue jeans, muddy boots, and a hat made out of hay. The barn had brand new shiny looking red paint. It looked new!
I saw a chicken and a cow so I went over there and greeted myself. I said hi and they looked at me like I was crazy so I just kept the conversation going and told them about how I was from Zaboosh. They laughed and called me crazy and a liar but I knew it was real so I asked them what their names were. The

I got fed fruit, and others things pigs eat everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I saw Eugene and Toby outside so I went up to them to try and be friends but obviously they didn’t. Eugene looked and me and said why I even bother to hang out with them and told me to go back to the planet called LIES. That’s when I knew why Eugene was so mean to me because he thought I was a liar so I knew that they weren’t the right friends for me. I wobbled back to the barn feeling bad about myself but Toby stopped me on my way. Toby said he was sorry for Eugene behavior and that he believed me about Zaboosh so i asked him if he wanted to come to Zaboosh with me and he could bring his family to. He thought it was a brilliant idea! So there we

General Zaroff has always been cruel to me, but, as I stand awkwardly by the door, his insult to my people strikes a nerve. " Ivan is an incredibly strong fellow," he says, barely concealing a malicious grin, "but he has the misfortune to be deaf and dumb. A simple fellow, but, I'm afraid, like all his race, a bit of a savage."…

A Taste of Domesticity in Stokes State Forest Throughout my four years of high school, I had never had a friend come back from a post-prom weekend in Wildwood and describe to me what sounded like a “good time.” The stories they told always had the same synopsis that centered around drunken fun and even drunker stupidity. Hordes of juniors and seniors slept in small dirty motel rooms. They spent way too much money on alcohol, and they often got swindled into paying hundreds of dollars to stay in an otherwise dirt cheap motel because no decent place would allow teenagers to party like they did. They sat in their hotel rooms and drank the beautiful New Jersey beach days away, waiting for the sun to set so they could continue their drunken…

After thirty-six hours of turbulent flights I arrived in Bacolod, feeling jetlagged and underqualified. It’s true the virtual calculator I wrote to make shorter work of my Algebra homework had become a minor hit online, garnering a few hundred downloads; and it’s true that the computer I wrote that calculator on I had “Frankensteined” together with components from the recycling center. But I had never worked in IT, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that the position my uncle had offered me, intern with the IT department of the all-ages school where my aforementioned uncle worked as vice-principal, was one that could be better filled by someone else. Of all the teenage computer geeks with no summer plans, why me?…

Could you ever imagine waking up one day and everything was different? Not being able to be sprawled out in your perfectly good bed each morning, but waking up in various locations for protection. Having to carry some sort of weapon every time you go outside just in case you run into a pack of zombies looking for fresh flesh. This all seemed too much and it was only my first year at Missouri State. A zombie apocalypse was not something I expected from college, especially to be one of the few survivors’ left on campus.…
