I nestled in the suffocating sheets of the bedding in my room, the room I had been confined to since the tragedy. The tragedy that twisted my once perfect life into a tumbling spiral of pure sorrow that I couldn't grasp. I breathed raggedly peering into the complete blackness of the room. For every suicide, there are twenty-five suicide attempts; of which ninety percent of all people who commit suicide are diagnosed with depression. One of those suicide attempts was a ten-year-old girl, and that ten-year-old was me. After I attempted suicide, it took a year for me to confess to my mother what I had done.
