I walked into the courtroom with everyone’s eyes fixed on me. I turned to the left and sat down by polyphemus. Soft murmurs traveled through the room. I looked over at the defendant,odysseus, and gave him and his lawyer dwight a dirty, confident look. Apparently the whole room saw the look and murmurs got louder. In a hurry, the judge yelled, “Quiet” and slammed his gavel down on the hard wood podium. The room gave out a soft echo. Everyone shut their lips immediately. The judge, with a strong deep voice, gave a shout, “ we are gathered here today to determine whether or not Odysseus is guilty of the crimes he supposedly committed against polyphemus. I will give each lawyer twenty minutes to present their case and then they will have five minutes to call …show more content…
After he was done with jeremiah he concluded with his presentation and sat down. By the judges gesture, i knew it was my turn. I stood up and went to the center of the room. Everyone’s eyes were on me. Everyone’s but polyphemus’ since he didn’t have one. I started my presentation and began to question the jury. Once i was done giving my lecture, i knew the only thing left to do was call my witness to the stand. “I call odysseus to the stand” i announced. The jury gasped and the audiences jaw dropped. Murmurs were being echoed across the room. Many doubted me but i had a plan. I started to ask odysseus questions that were normal, as soon as odysseus was comfortable, i asked him the question that i knew would end the case. “Odysseus, what kind of wood did you use to take out polyphemus” i asked. Without thinking he replied,”Olive-wood”. The whole room gave a loud sudden gasp and odysseus realized what he just did. The judge slammed down his gavel and without even asking the jury yelled,” defendant is found guilty and is sentenced to life in prison without parole”. The security came over and handcuffed odysseus. I did it. I had won the
