People everywhere decorated their houses and yards, families carved jack-o-lanterns and displayed them outside, and herds of children dashed from house to house trying to stockpile as much candy as they could via trick-or-treating. I remember dressing up in numerous costumes from skeletons and crash test dummies to ninjas and mimes. Even during the ninth grade, the year before my mother took this photograph; I still managed to take part in the holiday. That year was reasonably demanding, with teachers assigning various projects and homework assignments that would occupy most of Halloween night. When the exam started, I noticed that the questions were much easier than the practice; however, by the five minutes remaining mark, I had only managed to answer sixty-four of the seventy-five questions. I quickly bubbled in my answers and managed to respond to another question or two before time ran out completely. Next, it was time for the infamous essays. We had fifteen minutes to plan, and then two hours to write three essays; a DBQ (Document Based Question), a C&C (Compare and Contrast), and a CCOT (Changes and Continuities Over Time). I remember writing rapidly and successfully completing two of the three essays with time not running out until I began to write the conclusion to my last composition.
