Colonel Stolfer wasn’t concerned he hadn’t heard from his scouts in the last few hours, they routinely disappeared, probably hunting for war trophies, it was a practice he disliked, but he didn’t stop his Soldiers from doing it. The forward elements of the Brigade had reached Leakin Park and were being dispersed to their various locations for the night. My friends and I were at my friend Alex’s house we were all ready to play some airsoft we all already arrived in our gear. My gear consisted of british armor infantry desert BDUs (Battle dressed uniform) a face mask, a boone hat, a military grade vest and, a desert camo backpack which held water, snacks, and pellets. I had also brought my tormentor, an automatic rifle with a semi automatic mode and a pump action fire for close quarters, but we made a rule at close quarters you can only have pistols. We started picking teams. “Logan, Andrew F, and Jake on one side since Logan has a spring loaded single fire assault rifle and Andrew F has a single action sniper, Jake since you have the only automatic weapon (Ak-74U model) you will be team leader”.…

The sky above was pitch black-a growing crescent illuminated in the night. Sparkling, shiny spots illuminated in the sky. Maneuvering around the cones that the police set up, yellow vehicles honked, casting blinding streams of light that shone around the street. The numerous screens, signs, and stores lit up the area, holding hands with the city, forming a shield of comfort, warmth, and safety.
