Personal Narrative: Nolan County

Nolan county is a great place to grow up and live in. I happen to reside in Roscoe and go to school there. I moved to Roscoe when I was going into the fourth grade, and I am glad I did. Where I moved here from is a place that I am glad I got out of, I would’ve most likely be getting in all kinds of trouble there. Nolan county saved me from all that trouble. The people here are amazing, no matter what town you live in. I can go to Sweetwater and still feel welcomed, and we welcome people from Sweetwater into Roscoe. This county is like one big family, we may not know everyone, but we will have each other’s back. I have seen this multiple times over the last few months. I want to become a Texas State Trooper, so I have complete many ride-alongs with them and I have seen many people on their worst days. Before I started the ride-alongs, I was blind to how great this county is. I was stuck in Roscoe and had no idea of how many good people there are here. Once I graduate college and the Trooper academy, I want to start my career in this county, I believe it’s a great place to start a career. There’s so many great things about this place that I possibly couldn’t fit them all on this page. Nolan county also host many great events throughout the year that keep our tourism up. The World’s Largest Rattlesnake Roundup, The Lumberyard in Roscoe, 4th of July celebrations, and many other events. This county is also home to the world’s largest wind farm. You would think that a small West Texas county wouldn’t have much going on, but there is always something fun or interesting going on. People in this county have revived the economy of Nolan county, and it took a lot of work. When I first moved here, there was hardly anything here, but over the course of a few years and countless hours of hard work, Nolan county is now a place to visit and even move
