WHY I Want to Know/Why I Chose This Topic (My Personal Story=Hook) 6-12
Nintendo was a large part of my childhood, my first console I owned was a Nintendo Gamecube. But my parents had a NES from when my parents were younger and they still had the system. Playing the games on it always blew my mind, I always thought how does such an amazing game work on such a little cartridge? How does it work? Why does it Work? As I grew older I learned the answers to these questions. But one I recently started to wonder, what is the best programing language to use to write a NES/8-bit game?

While most kids were outside playing in the mud and dirt, I was sitting inside on a couch, comfortable, clean, and happy to do so. As a child, I detested the idea of getting my clothes dirty. I loved to be able to maintain the pristine cleanliness of my outfit, so I often refused to play outside. Instead, I resorted to a crimson red Gameboy SP with a blazing LED screen, almost too big for my hands, for my childhood action. I’d live out intense fantasies in that three inch square.…

My Wii U has saved me from boredom everywhere I turn. With it, I can get through a long night of boredom without having to take a break from studying though the system itself is rated badly in reality I think it is actually a great system that Nintendo has been using correctly. The idea of having two screens, one being the TV and the other the Wii U gamepad is a great idea that works especially if you don’t have access to the TV then you can just plug headphones into the gamepad and play using that. That way, no one can complain that you’re hogging the TV.…

The Gameboy was mostly popular because of its games like Zelda, Pokémon or The Mario Bros. It was also great because of its battery time; the system could run for 30 hours on only two AA batteries. This was due to the system only having 4 shades of gray and no backlight.…

It all started at breakfast on one monday snowy monday morning. My brother Riley slid a piece of paper across the counter to me and said, “check this out!”. I glanced down to see that he had torn an ad out of a Wal-Mart magazine, an ad for the brand new gaming system the Xbox One. I read the ad and then, when Riley glanced at me expectantly, said, “It looks pretty cool I guess”. I wasn’t much of a video game player in truth…

Although much of my time is dedicated to school I try my best allot myself time to work on my own personal projects and interest. In my free time I enjoy tinkering with software and giving my electronics capabilities they were not designed for. I have installed several custom operating systems ,ROMs ,and applications on both my computer, android devices, and gaming consoles that give me the ability to use them for their real potential. One on my most fun projects was installing custom firmware on my portable game console in order to give it the ability to emulate retro game consoles. I honestly can’t believe that it is already the end of my senior year, the end of my high school year, and the end of my PSP membership. After being part of the program for six years, six grueling years crawling towards the end goal of going to somewhere else to have a chance to better myself and my future, it is hard to imagine that my time with the blessed program would be coming to an end. This program changed me, no doubt about it, in ways that I see as positive and placed me in a state brighter than I was in when I was allowed the chance six years ago. When I entered the program, I was in a dark place. Though I was very young at the time, I was engrained with anger and hopelessness.…

Why have video games become a big success? Back in the early 1900s, people didn’t have video games, they had simple games such as checker and chess. These two games are still widely played, but when computers and televisions started becoming a normal necessity, virtual games became more apparent. The concept of video games started with the first computer game. This game was a version of tic-tac-toe, created in 1952 by A.S. Douglas, a Cambridge university doctoral student (Hile)…

The goal of every game is to present the user(s) with a situation, accept their input, interpret that input into action, and calculate a new situation spawned from those actions. Games continuously loop through these stages, as this pattern corresponds to how a game engine is programmed, and the specifics depend on the game itself. Some game loops are advanced by the user’s input and remains “asleep” until it is provided. Other games may use frames of animation which progress the cycle and any change that the user input is caught at the first available turn.…
