Personal Narrative: My Writing Style

For many years, I have found myself turning to poetry as a relief from existing during times where being alive just didn’t help the choices I’d make. It became a writing style; a lifestyle. For 15 years I have taught myself the fundamentals of what there is to know when it comes to poetry and the type of rhythms there are.
The fascination that I found through different techniques inspired me to create my own work lengthy enough to perform publicly. Through these performances I have also sampled other styles by adding melancholy themes or comedic jokes in the mix to relieve the tension. My style could be considered a jack of all trades, a mix of all colors, but I mostly enjoy focusing on the poetic release in my work.
