Personal Narrative: My Writing Experience

Decent Essays
My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion. In writing your suppose to use descriptive details and to always have a point to why you are writing the story. My writing didn’t until I came to college; being in your class has been teaching me how to write. It’s bad a way that I just started writing because I have way …show more content…
I try to begin my essay in a good way so I can have a strong thesis statement. Making a strong thesis statement and a conclusion gives me some trouble. Once you make a thesis statement it’s usually easy to make a conclusion. The conclusion is basically your main point reworded. The most enjoyable part about writing is when you finish. It feels like you made a masterpiece. I always go to google to research a essay. I use google to look up information about a essay such as the comparison / contrast essay we did. I find it easier to write in the morning time after I eat breakfast. I wrote most of my papers in the library because it had a problem using microsoft word on my labtop but its fixed now. I don’t have a favorite writing but if I did have one it would be Stephen King I read a lot of books by him in Middle and High school. In conclusion, writing has been important to me while I’m in college and the rest of my life. Writing helps in so many ways to express your emotion or argument about how you feel about that topic. I’m glad all of Austin Peay students are required to take a writing

During my first year at Spelman College, I have not necessarily acquired any new writing skills. However, I have definitely sharpened three imperative writing skills, including: forming my ideas, reasoning, and synthesis (based on readings and discussions) to develop the content of my essays, integrating sources and evidence that corroborate my beliefs, and making my writing more clear and concise. In addition, I still stand in the process of learning to write well under the pressure of time constraints. To illustrate my points, At Spelman, I have been required to read and discuss for every single class I have enrolled in.…

Writing has always been a pastime for me. When I was younger, I loved writing stories just for fun or to have something to share with my family and friends. I remember being able to sit down for hours on end and write full pages worth of writing. Whether it made any sense, had proper grammar, and even if it was legible didn’t matter to me. It was writing that I could truly say was my own and be proud of.…

My History As A Writer Throughout my lifetime I have come to love and absolutely hate writing. The reasoning of the assignment or topic has a lot to do with my affinity and disgust. Although learning new things, like writing, was something that I loved doing in elementary school, that all changed when it was daily implemented. As an art form I recently come to love writing down my thoughts, ideas, opinions and stories.…

Writing an essay has always been somewhat of a puzzle to me. I have only written four or five essays that required real thought and never did particularly well on any of them. To me, writing has been like a stream of consciousness from my mind to the page, not something to edit and perfect. The weaknesses of my writing out way the strengths, at least in my view. I have always been more of a reader, but I have had little practice with writing.…

I have always had a rough time writing essays in my academic career. The hardest thing for me in writing is structuring essays and making them flow. It wasn’t in till the 9th grade that I had a teacher who showed me how to set up an essay so that it is easier to read. One of the simplest things I struggle with in my writing career was spelling. Starting in elementary I would memorize words for a spelling test instead of actually learning how to spell them.…

My earliest memories of reading go all the way back to when my favorite book to have read to me was “If Pigs Could Fly”, I would have my parents read me this book all the time when I was a kid. I was read to a lot as a child which I think has made me into a better reader today, I always loved books when I was little and I collected every Dr. Seuss book and started learning to read them before I entered elementary school. I had almost every book and cherished my collection and continued to add to it for years after. I credit my ability to read so young to reading all of those books we had because I had an older sister who was able to read and I followed in her footsteps. I read before Kindergarten started, because I began reading at a high level as a five-year-old.…

I can not really say that I have always liked writing. When I write, it is more of my mind talking on paper instead of my mouth talking. Some things sound better in my mind than they do when I read them out loud. I never did write much at home unless I had to do English homework, but when I did write I wrote pages. I gain this focus feeling that once I am into something I just can stop because once I do, I will just completely forget about it and be busy with another project.…

Securing employment is a difficult task in the best of circumstances, but doing so in a foreign land where you don 't speak the language can be a nearly impossible task. In no nation is this greater exemplified than in France. Americans are prioritized last by headhunters, under other residents of France, and then other residents of the European Union. Furthermore, France is still suffering from the dire economic conditions brought out about my the recent financial crisis. In addition to the difficulties in the actual job market, securing a visa for non-native residents can be a tricky process to navigate.…
