Personal Narrative: My Work Ethic

I am definately not the same person I was a year ago. I have learned to appreciate many more aspects of life, I have learned to prioritize better. What seemed important to me a year ago no longer has the same influence. One thing though that has remain unbothered are my morals. My values, goals, and interests have not changed. My passion for my sport, love for my family, pride in my work ethic have remained the same. If i were to reflect on mysef 5 years ago I'd say I barely even would recognize who I was at fifteen. My perception of women is completely different, the way I dress, the types of people I choose to sorround myself with are all uncomparable to the way things were when I was 15. One thing that remains in me that I first experienced at 15 years old was my love for community service. …show more content…
Since then I have always desired to get involved with my local church and my fraternity's mentor program, so that I could make an everlasting impact on many young kids. If I were to go back ten years ago I could go on and on about what is different about me. I no longer care for the thoughts of others, I dont care to be the most liked kid in school, or feel angered or bothered to hear orhers speaking ill of me. My ten year old self was very insecure and valued the perception of society as a means for determining self worth. I cant say there are many things that are still the same as my ten year old self except the love for my grandfather.
