Personal Narrative: My Work Ethic

Decent Essays
Thanks Yeni for the question and a pretty interesting one at that. So when looking at my GPA, I never looked at myself as the smartest kid or the least educated. Throughout school I mainly got A-C's occasionally honor roll, but never anything more. That was until fall 2017 of college when I finally got Straight A's for the first time. All though I never thought about how someones GPA could affect how they work, until now. When I look at my GPA I see that I did try my hardest and tried to accomplish what I set forth to do. That goes along with my work skills also. Someone who puts in the effort should succeed, like I did, so when it comes to my work ethic I believe it does affect it. Someone who maybe was an F-D student probably wouldn't try

Clarence, I agree with you completely that older generations follow the motto “a hard day’s work for an honest day’s pay”. I work with a few older employees and they work 5x harder than some of the younger employees I work with. I also received a 35 on my EI test which I was not surprised of either. I have a very high work ethic and have very little time for play in my job. I do need to learn to put myself in others shoes; sometimes this is very hard for me to do.…

After graduating, your GPA tends to lose its importance, but your credit score will follow your for the rest of your life. Furthermore, your GPA will not help you find a good place to life, but your credit score will. Landlords check your credit score and bad credit can make it harder to apply for mortgage. Lastly, potential significant others realize that bad credit can come with financial baggage and may hold back from a relationship with someone with bad credit because of this. I agree that your credit score can be more important than your GPA.…

I have grown up in a household where grades always come first and as a college student I have kept this belief. My goal for college is to finish with a 3.80 GPA or higher and to have as many honors as I can when I graduate. I have done a pretty good job with doing this thus far in my college career. I received Deans List the spring semester of 2015 and as of right now I hold a 3.66 cumulative GPA and that will increase after grades are officially in for this semester. I believe I have found a good balance between my studies and my extracurricular activities, and with this balance, I know it will help me prepare for any internship or job I will come across in the insurance world.…
