Personal Narrative: My Wii U

Decent Essays
My Wii U has saved me from boredom everywhere I turn. With it, I can get through a long night of boredom without having to take a break from studying though the system itself is rated badly in reality I think it is actually a great system that Nintendo has been using correctly.
The idea of having two screens, one being the TV and the other the Wii U gamepad is a great idea that works especially if you don’t have access to the TV then you can just plug headphones into the gamepad and play using that. That way, no one can complain that you’re hogging the TV. When I work I can watch Netflix all night and do my homework easily without distraction from other people. When I have the headphones my roommate won’t bother me when I’m wearing them

“The British Console” notes that consoles like the Wii and Kinect can increase their physical activities and motor skills. This is true but their information does not give the whole truth. The Wii only has certain games like baseball and Just Dance that make them work out. Their most popular games like Super Smash Bros Brawl don’t involve physical activity, just the moving of their fingers. Second is that the Wii is incredibly outdated, it's been about ten years since it came out.…

With nearly 91% of today’s children ages two to seventeen playing video games, one can see that technology is influencing our kids dramatically (CNET).Video games on phones, iPads, and additional games are mainly stationary games that seem to be making many of today’s kids less active and less social as their eyes are glued to their devices. Unlike a gaming systems such as the Wii which only senses the remote moving, and can easily be fooled into saying one is moving, Xbox has created the Kinect which uses motion sensor cameras that allows users to be more personally interactive with their games and other people as the user is the “controller”(CNET). Although much of my time is dedicated to school I try my best allot myself time to work on my own personal projects and interest. In my free time I enjoy tinkering with software and giving my electronics capabilities they were not designed for. I have installed several custom operating systems ,ROMs ,and applications on both my computer, android devices, and gaming consoles that give me the ability to use them for their real potential. One on my most fun projects was installing custom firmware on my portable game console in order to give it the ability to emulate retro game consoles. It couldn’t have been past 10 a.m. when the alarm went off. We all knew what it meant- we were firefighters, it’s what we do. The fire chief told us that an apartment complex in downtown Boston had gone ablaze, and that it was really bad. We quickly got into our uniforms and hopped on as the fire truck left the station. We were a few miles away before I saw the smoke, a dark giant against the bright blue sky.…

I honestly can’t believe that it is already the end of my senior year, the end of my high school year, and the end of my PSP membership. After being part of the program for six years, six grueling years crawling towards the end goal of going to somewhere else to have a chance to better myself and my future, it is hard to imagine that my time with the blessed program would be coming to an end. This program changed me, no doubt about it, in ways that I see as positive and placed me in a state brighter than I was in when I was allowed the chance six years ago. When I entered the program, I was in a dark place. Though I was very young at the time, I was engrained with anger and hopelessness.…

The reason you would be looking at Bluetooth headphones is because you will not want the hassle of the cord getting in your way constantly, coupled with most modern devices being Bluetooth enabled, including iPhones, iPads, the majority of smartphones and laptops. Bluetooth headphones allow the listener to be able to move a short distance away from the device, or keep it in your pocket without the inconvenience of the cord. However, this luxury does come with a price, and generally the headphones don’t have great sound quality for the price. Due to the Bluetooth data capabilities being quite limited, sound quality is sacrificed as it is sent from the device to the headphones.…
