Personal Narrative: My Whiting In Flint

Improved Essays
I was born in Charleston, South Carolina. I wouldn't say that is my home town though. As a military brat we moved, a lot. Once we left the, military life, we settled down in Flint, Michigan. This is where I would call home, if I was asked. It was an interesting place to say the least. It was not always the safest, but we made due. Several of my friends and family still reside in Michigan, all over the state in fact. I have moved on.
There are not many things to do in Flint. There are museums to see, just like any other city. There are farmers markets to go to, not something I would have been interested in as a young child. The Whiting, a theater, is probably my most memorable moment in Flint. They put on plays such as Cats, the Blue Man Group

I consider my hometown to be Grand Forks, North Dakota. I was born at the former United Hospital in Grand Forks in 1994, and have lived here for my entire life—with the exception of about a year spent in Walhalla, North Dakota, due to the flood of 1997. The schools that I attended while growing up are all within fifteen minutes of driving from my current house. My parents live just 6.2 miles away from me.
