It is a beautiful day in Hawaii where people are lying on a white sand beach enjoying the hot sun beaming on them. There are kids laughing while making a sand castle and people swimming in clear blue water. Then all of the sudden there are shouts and screams of people saying “SHARK!” There are five dorsal fins peaking out of the water searching for their prey! People in the water start to swim frantically to shore.…

Hanging out with Shelton almost everyday this past summer had its perks. We did a lot of fun and spontaneous things. 10 pm one night Shelton and I came up with this great idea to watch the sunrise up Mauna Kea, so we got our things ready, took a short nap and made our way up the mountain around 3 am. Unfortunately we were unable to get the full experience of watching the sunrise, as we had to leave early because I had a soccer game to attend at 8 in the morning and Shelton had to work on the farm.…

How can the society we now live in be so flawed? Why doesn't anyone stop to think of anyone else or even do something for another person, just because? Today, I was talking to my mom and she told me that we wouldn't be able to go through with our family trip to Hawaii this December I admit when she first told me I began crying! I had been planning what to wear I even got a new bathing suit just for this trip! After a little explaining, my mom had me in tears, not because we weren't going on some measly vacation to Hawaii, but the reason we wouldn't be able to go.…

Over the summer I went to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina with my best friend Anne Marie and her parents. We did the normal things that people do when they go on vacation to the beach, such as going to the beach and touring around the area but we did other things that were crazy such as getting lost on bikes trying to find the beach access. I will be telling you the story of Anne and mines’ adventure that happened while we were lost on bikes with no way to contact anyone. It was the second night we had been at Hilton Head Island, we had gone earlier on the bikes and had came back to the condo because we got lost. Around 6:30pm Anne Marie and I told her parents we were going to ride bikes we accidently forgot to grab our phones and we did not realize.…

I have always loved the idea of Hawaii. The culture and the traditions at the beautiful place called Hawaii has always been so fascinating to me. It has always, I mean always been the only place that I want my sixteenth birthday to be at because my Grandma Brenda went when she was 30 years old. And one of her last words before she lived no more was “ If you want to travel to on of the places I did, choose the most beautiful place I have traveled to in all my years of living, choose Hawaii.” I am too young right now; therefore, I can’t go at this very moment.…

As I looked out at the gorgeous light blue Caribbean Sea I saw a large white boat in the distance with a rope connected to a parachute sailing over it with multiple people in the boat. My family and I were standing on the pure white Dominican Republic sand waiting for our turn to take the dinghy out and meet the parasail boat for our first experience parasailing ever. The sky was as clear and blue as could be, with absolutely no clouds and the sun beaming on each and every one of the vacationers on the beach. The beach and pool area at the Melia Caribe Tropical Resort was extremely dense with people vacationing from all over the world. My parents and I were actually talking about how diverse the population was with people from Spain, France,…

I've been thinking about the beach, waters and the sands for weeks now realizing I haven't even shared our Canyon Cove getaway yet. It is something that is worth sharing for and I can't believe I almost forget to blog about it. So without further adieu, here is the story of our first long drive (just the three of us) and beach escapade. The best part is, it was well an unplanned trip. January was supposed to be a month for our barkada (college friends) outing.…
