Personal Narrative: My Use Of Pandora Radio

Decent Essays
Of the selections provided to us for discussion I use Pandora radio the most. I use it to play music every time I drive my car to provide me with the music I like to listen to. I connect to my stereo in my car using the Bluetooth application on the stereo and my phone to provide me with that service. Another place that I use Pandora radio is in my house. I am able to connect to Pandora thru my Blu-ray player. I play music while I am working on my class work and during class to have a background noise that aids me in focusing while working. I have learned that I learn and retain more when I have background noise like music. I use Pandora to play music as opposed to having the TV on a station since if the TV is on something I would like to watch

A few years ago, one of my good friends sent me some songs to listen to by a band that I had never heard of called Twenty One Pilots. Their sound was completely different from anything I had ever heard before, containing some rap, a ukulele, and a piano all in one album. No one song sounded like the other, but they all contained one common element: some type of deep message hidden in the lyrics. At first, I rejected the band, not liking the way the music sounded, but when I listened again, really paying attention to the lyrics this time, I fell in love immediately. Somehow, these short 3 minute songs by this almost totally unknown duo had utterly changed my entire perspective on life, and on the effects of music in particular.…

Why I Sing Chaeley Winkler I cannot remember a time when I wasn’t singing. Of course, I know there was time before I could speak or burble as infants do, so there must have existed a certain silence before sound, however the mere thought of being so silent—unable to reach out with voice or touch—disturbs me to no end. But these thoughts of a time before sound hadn’t quite crossed my mind until I began to question the finer, tinier oddities in my life. These questions emerged at around the age of seven, before they had manifested as inner thoughts.…

There are a couple of obstacles that have played a major role in me becoming who I am today. I've had naysayers trying to negatively influence my thoughts, and crush my dreams by saying that said I will never amount to anything, or that I should give up on my dreams and get realistic with my goals. A couple years ago I was a completely different person. I was out of shape physically, my academic performance was very poor, and I had a terrible attitude. I improved greatly in athletics and my academic career.…

I have this unexplainable feeling I get that lives inside of me, something so powerful and sensational that I can feel it deep in my bones. If you asked me to explain this feeling I’d have to tell you it's as if something inside of me is telling me, this is how things should be, this is how I should feel. It’s unbelievably invigorating, so much that I don't think anyone could quite understand what this feeling truly is. When my elementary school years were coming to an end I realized I wanted to be something different, someone, who did something worthwhile, so I decided I wanted to be a violinist.…

Music. Music has been a huge aspect in my life since I was young. It has depicted whom I interact with on a daily basis, and how my life so far has fallen into place like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. From growing up listening to my dad’s music, to joining my elementary school choir in third grade, to moving to the middle school choir and joining band, learning my first instrument, moving up and getting better, meeting people, all up to now. Part of the school’s band program as a bass clarinet, pushing myself everyday to get better, and to overall be better.…

I have the talent of mingling with the crowd too, getting to know the throng and generally making sure I connect with the throng. There are tons of articles that back up my backup my opinion of productivity with statements saying "Music can boost productivity. Research into health and memory in work environment has radically changed the way music is used in the workspace." This shows how music can affect the work environment and if the work environment has momentum flowing then the tasks can be done more efficiently and effectively. With perception and how the listener can view the world differently, many articles have stated "How we perceive the world does not only depend on what we know of the world, but also by how we feel. Music and mood are closely interrelated - listening to a sad or happy song on the radio can make you feel more sad or happy.…
