Personal Narrative: My Typology Is Steadfast Conservative

Improved Essays
My typology is Steadfast Conservative, I hold conservative views on most issues that concern our country. One of the biggest influences for my political values come from the three most important men in my life, my dad, grandpa and my husband. They hold very strong opinions on military issues, national security and the four of us are veterans, each experiencing something different but we have a deeper understanding of the issues concerning the military and national security. I do not feel as though the media influences my idea for political values as I do not believe most of what I read but it does sway how I feel at times.
Public opinion is very important but as I am conservative, old school thinking and think more like a man I happen to disagree

When one opens up a newspaper, magazine or their favorite news channel they might not realize that each source has an agenda. I can probably make an educated guess on your political ideologies based on what sources you read on a consistent basis. Fox News, in particular has been accused by numerous of academic and political figures of having various biases in their news coverage as well as perpetuating more extensive views of a conservative bias. In Bill O’Reilly news segment, “Black Lives is Killing Americans,” he scrutinizes the Black Lives Matters movement and argues that protesting against police brutality and violence perpetrated by the police makes them responsible for all of the gun violence and deaths in America. He uses harsh language…

The riding I am in has been pretty much predominantly conservative for the most part, though now that the conservative MP isn't the same person, a larger opportunity is open for the other parties (NDP has remained the 2nd most popular as far as the last 2 results went). I voted for the NDP at the end, but I was glad that I didn't have to vote strategically as I don't really dislike any particular parties. It is interesting how my family thinks of the Conservative Party, my dad for one claims the Conservatives to be racist, while my aunt (who voted for the Conservatives) showed concerns about marijuana. As for electoral reforms, I don't really see it happening outside of the NDP, but even at that, if it is left up to a referendum to ask…

I was being driven to church on Sundays and youth group on Wednesdays for the first decade and a half of my life but it was only a routine, nothing more. This routine has been instilled in me since I first saw the light of day seventeen years ago yet I’ve never left my metaphorical bubble. I had grown up protected and shielded from the outside world and both the horrors and wonders it holds. When I transitioned out of Mennonite middle school, I was thrown into the deep end at a school where I knew no one and I couldn’t rely on Bible class to support my values. In all honesty, I lost my way.…

The residency is a position that should be held by someone that has the sufficient professional background to support the position; therefore, Senator Hillary Clinton will have my Vote. It is evident that Senator Clinton has received a huge backlash from previous mistakes that she had made throughout her political career and personal life; nonetheless I feel that as people that is how we gain a better understanding and learn how to improve on different topics an grow. I feel that Senator Clinton supports topics I find are important to promote equality regarding issues women have fought for decades. Take marriage for example. No one should dictate who we choose to spend the rest of our lives with.…

To the ones who believe asking, “What are you?” is a valid conversation starter, I am multiracial and proud, but to simplify my ethnicities to others when asked, I identify myself as Asian. I was stereotyped because of how we are perceived in media and society. I spent years cowering in my own skin because others made me believe I was not Asian because of the size of my eyes, the color of my hair, and my personal interests. I was ashamed of what I looked like since I was convinced it embodied who I am as a person.…

I want to be an example for my Dad and Mom, even if my decisions are hard to take, because I can remember the first conversation with my Mom about dropping out of school and explaining why I have to do that, how I was going to deal with that decision and asking her to support my decision so she can help me explain it to my Dad. I did attend the Republican debate and it was like some 5 years kids yelling at each other. Yesterday was "Super Tuesday", the day when 11 states held their presidential primaries. Clinton swept through the southern states creating a significant delegate lead over Bernie Sanders. Trump seems invincible now after winning most of the 11 state primaries. I don't know what's happening to America.…

On October 4th, the first and only vice presidential debate was scheduled to take place. Personally, I am not familiar with the role of the vice president other than to break ties in the senate. I didn’t have any idea what to expect from either of these candidates, other than to hear them defend the presidential candidates whom they will serve beneath. I predicted a stronger debate than the presidential debate and a win for the Democratic Party under Tim Kaine.…

In the election, I would vote for Green Party. I would vote for them because they seem to keep the environment in mind and have a lot of promises that would positively affect me. One of the things they said they would do is cut tuition fees for students and provide more bursaries for people looking into going into school. This will directly affect me and will make going to secondary school a lot easier for me being in my later years of high school. I can see this also benefitting the country, as it would help people become educated and make further learning more available.…

We live in a place where you have to pay almost $2 for school lunch but prisoners get it for free. We live in a place where a certain color gets blamed for everything. First of all, everyone relies on stereotypes.…
