I’d either want to eat healthier, workout more, concentrate on school more, or have a positive attitude. I also have turning points when I realize who my real friends are or who I really am and who I want to be. High school will make you realize things that were oblivious to you before high school. One example is from my freshman year when I had to find my real friends, the ones that didn't talk bad about me behind my back, and the ones who were really there for me. I was always told that the friends that I have in my childhood will never be the same friends when I grow up, and now I’m starting to see it happen in my own life. The people that I thought I knew so well, are now just old friends in the hallways. …show more content…
Just because we started high school, everyone saw upperclassmen doing things, so all of a sudden we had the right to do so too. In the hallways, people would be running around, throwing things, and being loud and disrespectful. I never wanted to be like anyone else, I concentrated on all my school work, and I was a really good kid. I would cry if I got in trouble, because I didn’t know what I was doing. Once sophomore year started, that’s when I started to grow out of my shell, I made new friends that were actually good people to me, and I did more activities after school. Although this led to my grades falling a bit, and me getting more distracted in class. This is when the turning points

The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…

When you were little have you ever did something you weren’t supposed to, and lied about it so you won't get in trouble. Many of us had, I was in the second grade and it was a Halloween special day. I was in school with my friends, Oscar, Gabriel, and Andrew. My second teacher was teaching us math that day. After that class we had lunch, we were all waiting to go to the event, our heart thumping like drums.…

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

At school registration, just a few weeks before the starting of school, I made the decision to make the “graduation” cliff not as horrible or terrifying. That day I made the sudden decision to sign up for some honor classes and dual credit senior classes, only being a junior. (THE CALL) I knew the upcoming year was…

For most students, the transition from middle school to high school is the evolution from childhood to adulthood. In my case, my middle school graduation was a quick transition for another reason. The first few months of my freshman year had my parents rushing my grandfather in and out of the hospital because of his failing heart. By this point my grandfather had battled off colon cancer, 3 heart attacks, and 2 open heart surgeries. At age 74 he was not a candidate for a heart transplant but he was able to get a defibrillator.…

In high school my most outstanding example of a time when I set an example as a student leader was my sophomore year in high school. My sophomore year of high school I was brought up to the varsity soccer team, the team that I was on was not extremely hard working and or dedicated. As a sophomore I was afraid to stand up and verbally tell the entire team that we need to step it up, or we are going to have a horrible season, so I decided to make my statement apparent by my actions. First, I started by always being the first one to every practice, putting pressure on my other teammates to do the same, in result everyone started to arrive to practice earlier. The second step I took was difficult since I was one of the youngest players and the…

The rest of the year was great to me, I finally saw the rainbow. I gained many new friends and I was/am doing fairly well in my classes. I overcame an obstacle of mine that was really large, and I am proud of myself for doing so. I finally got to see what it looks like when the clouds part. I went from being a stress mess to a straight success (maybe not success yet, but soon).…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…
