From my personal experience, when I was in elementary school I remember my teacher would let us sit on yoga ball it always helped me concentrate and it helped me when I was really active because I could not move around, it will make me fall if I move around. I like the idea of standing desks because I prefer standing a lot but when I need to I could sit down on the tool, but I could still move my legs around and be somewhat active. So if one day you're feeling antsy you can just stand. Also I think if your tired it could help you stay awake. Mark Benden also states that sitting desk can cause kids to be obese, he also says that too much sitting is bad for your health.…
My classroom procedures are very clear, which the class has become familiar with over the semester. Students are to come in from their special class and grab their materials and go sit on the carpet and get ready for math to begin. These are expectations that should be memorized by now. Many of them do this and it contributes to the flow of the classroom and the engagement level of the entire groups. Over the summer and part of the spring I made a slow transition to move to Incline. I was only nervous about making friends because I didn’t know if they would like me. The first time I met all of the girls in my grade was at the 6th grade orientation. Being a high school student is composed of restless nights, and eight exhausting hours of classes in which you are obligated to stay awake in. A normal school day begins with me snoozing my alarm about ten times before my dad walks into my room telling me the dreaded “time to get up for school” reminder which I just take as a suggestion. Normally I will drag myself into the bathroom about ten minutes later to begin my routine. I am still not that good at it, but I noticed that I started thinking more about the choices I make when I write. For example, I began my summary of Thonney’s “Teaching the Conventions of Academic Discourse” with a point of view she disagrees: “Thonney points out that some scholars deny the idea that there are set rules to academic writing.” I thought this would be more effective than talking about her ideas, then bringing up the opposing opinion, and then coming back to Thonney’s thoughts again. I wanted the paragraph to have a strong structure because that way it is more effective and easier to understand. This is definitely an improvement.…
