This summer I went to the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center. The best part was going to the Parks and Resorts panel. My mom and I were waiting in this mile long line at 9am for this panel that started at 3 pm. We finally started moving and went down the escalator to go into the basement. We entered a giant room under the main ballroom and sat down on this cold gray concrete floor with about seven thousand other people to wait. After being down there for about three hours we finally got to go into the ballroom. I was relieved that we were actually going to move. We sat down in the middle section of the gigantic ballroom. Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts came onto the lit up stage. He started talking about the successes

After spending a week with people who had less then me, I understood that I was completely wrong. I learned that people who have nothing are the most caring and empathetic. The people who lived at the camp we were staying at, greeted us with open arms and warm hearts. As a mission team, we were obviously caring people.…

Seated on the plane to Beijing, I was thinking all the way on what I did through the past year. My mind went back to the time when my friends and I worked together for Chinese orphans by creating a club. With 100 dollars from donation, I asked several classmates to help me set up a club called ‘Bring Me Hope Club’ to cooperate with a global NGO: Bring Me Hope, to raise money for Chinese orphans and build long-term personal one-to-one relationships with them.…

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

I woke with a start at the obnoxious noise coming from my alarm. It was 9:00 a.m. on a Thursday, in the middle of the summer. Today, I was going to my favorite place in the world: the Tulsa State Fair. I dragged myself down the creaking stairs and into the family room, where I turned on the television. I then ate a bowl of cocoa puffs and went back upstairs to prepare myself for the day.…

Often, women walk down the beauty aisle of a department and grocery stores and see all types of merchandise for their hair, but not many know what the products are right for them. They see products that promise to rejuvenate dry, damaged hair; volumize limp, flat hair; straighten curly hair, and regenerate thinning hair. With my hair being a kinky curl, when I was younger, I would ask my mother if we could buy relaxers and apply them at home. She would give me the same answer every time, “This should only be performed by a professional if you do not want to ruin your hair.”…

It was also my first time going to Knott’s Berry Farm without my parents. It was a Sunday and the 11-13 year olds were getting hot dogs, drinks, and chips ready to sell. The reason we were selling these food items was because we were having a fundraiser so each of us could pay for our ticket, so that we could go to Knott’s Berry Farm. I was kind of disappointed because I didn’t sell that much money during the first service. I was really worried that I wasn’t gonna be able to go, but my sister and my friend Kaylie cheered…
