My mom, dad, and my little brother Danny were already down eating breakfast. “Guess what day it is!” said my mom. “It's April 14!” I exclaimed to my mom. On February 19th, I attended the 2017 Epcot International Festival of the Arts located in the World Showcase of Epcot Park, Disney World Florida. This outdoor gala encompassed an array of fine arts exhibited under fine white tents along the World Showcase’s walking paths. As I strolled along the pathway, I came across one particular framed photograph that captured my interest. It was a large digital photo of an under view of a pier and it was titled, “Pacific Tides” by Carlos Cuba. As I gazed at this piece, I began to admire the serenity the print inspired within me.…

“The Gift of the Sea” is an oil painting made by Aoki Shigeru in 1904. The painting depicts a scene of nude fishermen walking along a shoreline with their captured haul saddled onto their shoulders. The composition of the work pushes the viewer’s vision to the left side as all figures face and walk towards that direction. This push to the left is also emphasized through the spears of the fishermen, which look like arrows directly informing the viewer to follow its trajectory.…
