Personal Narrative: My Trip To The Mall

Improved Essays
One goal of mine may strike people as “weird” or “stupid”. I want to be able to walk into the mall and buy six pairs of shoes off of one check. I love shoes; shoes are what I am into to. Right now I can barely buy one pair of shoes off of one check, and depending on the price of the shoes I can’t even get one pair. I remember back a couple of years ago I went to the mall to get a new pair of shoes. I walked in the store and walked around until I saw the shoes I wanted. I picked them out, tried them on, and then took them to the cashier. I had $100 and the shoes came out at $98.59, so I barely had enough. While I was paying there was a man on the side of me paying also. When I looked over to see what shoes he got I saw something I wasn’t expecting

Goals are something that I have always thought about in my life. Whether it be graduating high school, passing a test, or going to college. Back then I had a lot of simple goals that were easy to accomplish, but now it’s time to start making those goals much bigger. As for my first goal I would like to graduate college with no complications. To do this I will have to always stay on task, turn work in when it is due, and taking care of things before it’s too late.…

I signed up for Free Store, and the number of hours required for this CSL placement is 30 hours with 25 hours of volunteering and 5 hours of writing papers. I contacted Frédérique Rivet to set up my placement, and I attended the first meeting with Frédérique Rivet and other volunteers. In our first meeting, we introduced to each other, and we also exchange some of our ideas about sustainability. Including the meeting time, I have completed four hours and half so far.…

I would visit Applebee’s again for several reasons; it is affordable, causal, and the food is really good. As a college student, the first thing that I consider before eating out is how affordable the place is. Compared to Olive Garden, I would say that this restaurant is a lot less formal, less costly, and a lower food quality. Overall, my experience was fun and enjoying because I felt relaxed sitting, laughing, and eating with my friends. When come back next time, I may try a dessert.…

Orlando Trip This summer, I went on a trip to Orlando, Florida with the Youth Group of First Baptist Church Oxford. My friend David was the only person that went on the trip that was in my grade. Most of the people that went with us on this trip were juniors and seniors as well as a few people that were going to Ole Miss. This was one of the best trips I had been on in a very long time and a very good life experience for me.…

As a kid, I had no responsibilities other than school, and sometimes sports. I was fortunate enough to not have to do chores, or have a job at an early age. I essentially, could manage my time how I pleased; playing Xbox, baseball, being on my phone whenever, as long as I kept my grades up and wasn't in trouble. My parents gave me this privilege, because they knew what a well-behaved kid I was, and somehow trusted that my Dad’s work ethic would eventually just naturally rub off on me when the time was right. Although my experience sounds great, I felt empty, because I wasn't doing anything productive.…

When I think about the boy who I was growing up, the young adult I am today, and the man I plan to be in the forthcoming years, one aspect of my life stands out to me far more radiantly than anything else: my culture, my skin, my identity as a Bangladeshi-American. There aren't many clubs or organization for Bangladeshi Americans such as myself. Make no mistake, there are certainly events for Bangladeshis living in the United states, many that I have attended due to various entreaties from my parents. These are event where the only language spoken is one that I barely speak (Bengali), the only music conversed about is that which I don't listen to or understand, and the only events discussed happen in another country that I have spent only a…

I was smiling the whole time as the skin around my neck was being ripped off. Well I wasn’t actually smiling and as brutal as I made it sound, it wasn’t as horrific an event now that I look back on it. The incident occurred while I was on Spring Break during my freshman year in high school. My family and I were vacationing in Gatlinburg, Tennessee;which if I might add we’ve been there about eight times since I was seven years old. I remember clearly that day down to the exact temperature.…

“Deeper Into my Life” Individuals are unique in their own ways and one of mine happens to be my name, Darrnyejah Bolds. Everywhere I go people have a hard time pronouncing it. Many people have given up and just refer to me as “Ms. Bolds,” but also I have two nicknames “Nye”, and “Nyejah,” which is mostly used by family and friends. For my RISE project, I would like to work on hunger in Massachusetts with an additional interest in hunger in children. I first started working with hunger in seventh grade with my advisory. Since then, I’ve taken a new initiative and began volunteering at A Place To Turn during my free time. Last year, I set up a food drive for them and was able to collect over three hundred items of food. This year, I am hoping to continue with these food drives and collection drives on a larger scale.…

My visit to Costco Wholesale I decided to visit Costco because I knew it would have a greater amount of people shopping at once than other stores near me, such as Fry’s and Safeway. This would allow me to observe a greater number of interactions with more ease. Costco is a membership-only warehouse that sells items in larger quantities than a regular grocery store. Costco claims to have lower prices as well, and they usually carry few brand options for the same product. I went to Costco on Monday at 10:00 am, which is when they open.…

The Trip to the Grocery Store I haven’t seen him in weeks or maybe even months, I thought as I glared across the small distance between where I was standing and my dad’s car. With my One Direction CD clutched in my hands, I started to close the distance by walking towards his car. I opened the door and slipped in, and then he started to drive to the grocery store. At the time I was under the illusion that my dad would be even slightly happy to see me, but no.…
