Decent Essays
We had planned it about three weeks before. That afternoon we finished packing everything, and that night we left. We decided to leave at midnight so we could drive all night and arrive there by morning. I had made a reservation for the hotel a few days before. I had given them the idea of going there for the summer and they agreed. We were going to Minnesota. This summer I got my license and took a little adventure. My two friends Cloe, Teya, and I were bored and didn’t have anything to do, so we decided to go to Maryville. We went to Workman’s Chapel, which is right outside of Maryville. Workman’s Chapel is an old haunted church and cemetery. The story behind Workman’s Chapel is that a preacher stabbed a woman in a white dress to death and hid the knife under the floor boards of the church.…

Our field trip to Chicago offered me a new way of seeing the city. I have been to Chicago multiple times, yet this trip offered me an experience I was not expecting. It offered me an insight to the darkness that covers the city and the beacons of light that try to shine through that darkness. It opened my eyes to those who are searching for a truth, a love and an acceptance and are finding it in so many different places; whether it is Jesus People USA, South East Friendship Center, Olive Branch, a Krishna Temple or an Islamic Mosque. In each of these places individuals are just trying to figure out where they belong and if they can find acceptance, but what each offers is entirely different.…

I was in a deep sleep dreaming about my life until BOOM, my mom came in and told me to wake up. I was walking to the bathroom like a zombie to the bathroom brushing my teeth, taking a shower, and changing my clothes. We had to get to the airport as quickly as possible, because our flight leaves at five o’clock in the morning. Even though I was mad doing this I still enjoyed it because we were on our way to Florida!!This is great practice because one day I will have to do this again.…

My visit to Costco Wholesale I decided to visit Costco because I knew it would have a greater amount of people shopping at once than other stores near me, such as Fry’s and Safeway. This would allow me to observe a greater number of interactions with more ease. Costco is a membership-only warehouse that sells items in larger quantities than a regular grocery store. Costco claims to have lower prices as well, and they usually carry few brand options for the same product. I went to Costco on Monday at 10:00 am, which is when they open.…

The Trip to the Grocery Store I haven’t seen him in weeks or maybe even months, I thought as I glared across the small distance between where I was standing and my dad’s car. With my One Direction CD clutched in my hands, I started to close the distance by walking towards his car. I opened the door and slipped in, and then he started to drive to the grocery store. At the time I was under the illusion that my dad would be even slightly happy to see me, but no.…
