Every year my family takes a trip to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park to spend the week viewing all the wildlife and scenery the park has to offer. The Great Smokey mountains attract nearly ten million people a year making it the most visited national park in the United states. Last year however the part of this beautiful park my family goes to was almost unrecognizable. On November 23rd,2016 part of this popular park became consumed by flames as a wildfire swept across over 15,000 acres of land burning everything in its path. It consumed not only parts of the forest many residential sites as well.
