I hope that one day I will be able to meet him again, but know I have to use what knowledge he has gave me to better my life. It was the summer of 2016 and the football team was told that we were going to meet some special guests, but we had no clue who it was and what we were going to do. We all pulled into the school parking lot around the time we were told to and noticed that some men in uniforms were there. We all walked to the stadium and met up with the head varsity coach, after he spoke to us about some upcoming events he dropped the bombshell on us that we would be training with the Marines for the day. Looking down where the Marines we saw that they had finished putting together what looked like a course of some sort. After walking down to the practice …show more content…
We started off by being put in a large circle and were told that we were going to do fifteen push ups , but with a catch, it would be up once them down then up twice then down twice all the wu until we reached fifteen and if anyone fell to their knees we would have to start all the way over. It was horrible because we had to start over at least five times because the linemen couldn’t do it, but we finally finished. The sun was scorching hot and we had to drink water every fifteen minutes so we would not become dehydrated, but the heat still made us all irritable. After a few other team workouts and a few bloody noses we we were about to begin the hardest workout of them all. We were divided into two teams randomly selected by the the other

In August of 1992, Rake’s team had a Sunday morning practice of all conditioning after a bad scrimmage the day before. Two miles was their “warm-up.” Then, the team ran bleachers, a workout dreaded by all Spartans. It was so dreaded that “when Rake yelled Bleachers, half the team wanted to quit” (Grisham 75). During the workout, sophomore Scotty Reardon collapsed on the bleachers “and never regained consciousness” (Grisham 76).…

My sunburn lines between my shorts and socks symbolized the restless, tiring hours spent out on the field. Every Tuesday and Thursday, for two and a half hours, the sun scorched my body while my legs would scrape into the ground. The cluster consisted of the seniors’ looming bodies that would go shoulder to shoulder against my own freshman self as our feet would battle for control. While this exhaustion enthralled and encouraged my game, the sprints, planks, runs, and more caused me to dread going to that grassy field every week. The humidity produced heavy, useless pants from my lungs as my throat would feel as if it was closing in from a claustrophobic nightmare.…

Fall in Oxford Michigan is all about high school football. Unless you happen to be in middle school which I was, then it’s about middle school football. I had never had much interest in the sport, didn’t even know half the rules, but Luke had been bugging me to join the football team that year, which was our 8th grade year. Middle school football in our county was divided into Heavy-weight and Light-weight. Heavies are anyone over 130lbs, the Lights are anyone under, and I weighed about 95lbs with sand in my shoes.…

Essay “Beep”, “Beep”,”Beep”, It was 8:30 A.M, crawling out of bed after another sleepless friday night, I finally managed to shove a smoothie down my throat and get my mind mentally ready for yet another gruelling 4 hour practice. My morning routine before every practice consisted of my kinetic stretching and rolling out my muscles, along with my main playlist, “Pump up” before the 30 min drive out to calabasas. This was the week of my High School Varsity Lacrosse team’s championship, and was easily one of the most anxious times of my life in my entire sports career. Not only were we nearing finals for my school but, being captain of defense, I had an enormous role to play in helping my teammates along with myself.…
