Personal Narrative: My Trip To The Barnes Foundation Museum

Improved Essays
My trip to the Barnes Foundation museum was enjoyable and informative. On my trip, as we moved through the galleria I was astounded by how the rooms in the galleria were arranged. It was not like your average museum, with one or two paintings on the walls with a description of it underneath. Instead, there were rooms with paints all over the walls, along with iron work that correlated with the pieces. Our tour guide elaborated on how he did not wish for there to be a description under the pieces of art stating their background. So in replace of that, he had pamphlets in every room withe the description of the paints within the room in it. However, guest are not able to remove the pamphlet from the room. Everything was hung for reason. He took

As we were traveling down the back roads to Le Mars, Iowa we went through so many small towns that I didn’t even know existed. My grandma, cousin, and aunt had so much fun in the car, playing games, doodling, and singing. We went by this small town that only had like 8 houses. As we got closer and closer we all were so happy to taste the fresh ice cream. When we arrived to the blue bunny museum I looked at my cousin Randi and said “ Omg I can’t wait! ”…

Since I have been in Lubbock I have never gotten the opportunity to go to the Texas Tech Museum. Upon going to the museum I did not know what to expect. When I went recently, for the first time, went to the Texas Tech Museum I noticed that the museum had numerous of things in it such as dinosaurs, visuals for the Native Americans, Chinese artifacts, paintings and etc. Even though they had a lot to offer I just paid close attention to the paintings. I notice painting of emotions, painting of excerpts and painting of event is history.…

When I visited George Washington my sophomore year of high school, I instantly knew that your school is where I wanted to go for college. It just wasn't like any of the other colleges that I had seen before, and for that matter it was unlike any I have seen since. I saw that GW is in a beautiful location and that its presence in the capitol greatly enhances both its value and the city’s around it. I really liked walking around the campus, as it was extremely vibrant. I saw that safety is also important, and the combination of security that holds jurisdiction in this area is extremely reassuring.…

Hi, I am going to tell you about the time I went to Washington D.C to visit my grandparents. My grandma and grandpa had originally lived in Pittsburgh PA, but they had moved to D.C because my grandpa was a history buff, and my grandma got a new job. My family planned to stay down there for a few days anyway, but then they called and broke the news to us and said that we could stay with them. We live in Morgantown, WV so it was only a three and a half hour drive.…

Due to my unpredictable work schedule I had to forgo the planned visit. I was slightly apprehensive about this, because I wanted a personal tour, which they offer on planned visits only. After signing the guest book in the front foyer of the museum, I was greeted by a young, knowledgeable volunteer who was more than happy to show me around. It was unusually slow that day so I had the volunteer’s undivided attention, as she did mine. She ushered me through answering every question and explaining each section in greater detail.…

My visit to the Nelson-Atkins museum was unlike any of my other visits to museums. First of all, I had a solid purpose for going and found myself paying much more attention to the intricacies of pieces I was viewing. Secondly, due to its sheer size, this museum had a wide variety of art from many different cultures and time periods, giving each hallway and room a different feel. Lastly, I felt much more educated about what I was viewing, when compared to previous experiences. I waited until the 8th of July to drive to Kansas City and thus had read most of content that would be covered over the semester.…

I agree with Bunch because learning about the past can change one’s perspective and change for the better. In my view, I would moved with the idea of displaying historical moments that changed America for the greater good. In addition, Bunch stated, “Here is a balanced history of America that allows us to cry and smile…” Some might object to the fact that people aren't ready to realize the truth about the past, of course on the grounds that, the historical backgrounds are what we observe to learn from them. Yet I would argue that history is an important subject because there has been many events that lead to where the government stands today.…

I’ve always expressed myself through my art, whether it was through drawing, painting, or ceramics, and I always challenge myself to try new projects. The summer before sophomore year, I was scrolling through Pinterest for new ideas and stumbled upon pattern templates for friendship bracelets. Excited by this idea, I rushed out to buy supplies, and for the rest of the summer, I always had string in hand. By the end of the summer, I made more than I could ever wear alone and I was struck with an idea - donating my bracelets! I did research and discovered The Children’s Inn at NIH Thoughtful Treasures Program, in which it small gifts are given to children with life-threatening Illnesses staying at the hospital.…

The Dallas Museum of Art was the complete opposite of what I imagined it to be like. Before attending the museum, I had very low expectations. When I thought of “art museum” I imagined dusty walls lined with undiverse and outdated art. I imagined a place old couples went to because they had nothing better to do with their time. A place where the past lingered and grew old as civilization quickly moved on and forgot about it.…

I was completely clueless about museums and didn't know what to make of them. I went online and read a little about the museum and found out that it was one of the top five museums in the country because of its cultural diversity and integrated urban population. The personnel gave me a brief tour of the museum and told me the museum does not hold gallery collections, but their exhibition is based on a periodic basis. The museum was also filled with visitors and their families, all engaged in a series of photo shoots.…
