It’s late at night and I feel very hungry, I really don’t want to wake up anyone in the house so I just sneak out of my room to the kitchen. With my stomach grumbling, I open the fridge and take out a chocolate milk carton. I look around to make sure I haven’t woken anyone up and I took a long quenching drink directly from the milk carton. I then close the carton and put it back in the refrigerator. I don’t think my mom has no idea I do this a couple of times a week.

B. I had been planning my birthday for weeks. I was doing a big trip to the Bahamas with my friends and family, My Dad had booked the best hotel for us to stay with beautiful ocean view. It was something I wanted since I was younger and I had wanted some vacation like that. Once it was a week before my birthday I got a really bad cold, But I went regardless. When I got to the hotel was completely gorgeous, the sand from the beach was as soft as a pillow. Everything was great until I passed the cold to my dad, my dad to my sister, and just for being around all my friends end up being sick so we had to go back 3 days into the trip. It was the worst time for me to be sick, and it made everything to go bad. I think it could’ve been worst although we had a

Few weeks ago on a Monday I had scheduled a very important date with a girl I was seeing for Friday afternoon. We were planning on going to lunch to a very nice restaurant I had made reservations for. I am the type of person who tends not to forget important dates. I wrote it down on my calendar like I usually do and posted it on my bulletin board. I did this just to make sure I remembered. The day of our date I went along my day just like normal. She texted me telling me she was excited to see me but I didn’t think much of it. I felt like I was forgetting something all day. Around 2 pm I received a text that my date was waiting for me at the restaurant. She had been waiting for almost 2 hours. I rushed over to see her and luckily she was still

In the essay ‘Take Me out of Their Ball Game’ by Maria Guhde Keri, the author illustrates a prevalent situation in any child's life, “Did you ever walk into a room where kids are playing, say, a board game? They're animated, excited, totally focused on what they're doing. When you appear, they stiffen, grow quiet, and appear confused. An adult is watching, and suddenly the game and rules are changed-maybe even ruined.” In this scenario the presence of an authority figure sours the mood.…

My parents decided to plan a trip to go camping in the Mojave desert. Camping in the Mojave, in my eye, is the worst thing ever because all you do there is sit in a chair either freezing cold or melting hot. So I begged my mom to let me stay at a friends house for the weekend. While I was there I called my parents and asked if I could stay home alone one day before they got home.…

An experience of particular importance to me was when I went to Cuba. This was important to me because I met a new friend Anyelo, experienced the cultural and met nice people. One thing that made this trip particularly important was that I got to see how different people’s lives are in Cuba. There have been sanctions against Cuba since the 1950s making it so they do not have many things that we have in the US. Most of their cars are antique and have to use what they have to repair them.…

I got up and told myself I didn’t want to be lazy the rest of that Sunday. I got up off my lazy butt and went upstairs to ask my sister if she wanted to play some wiffle ball over at the park. She said yes mostly because we had gotten new wiffle ball equipment as an early birthday present for both of us (Her birthday is the day after mine).…

Growing up in Jamaica was not what some may think as ideal, it has been described as a Third World Country, but to me, it was just home. Third world indeed, poor, violent at times; a contradiction, with its sandy beaches, clear blue skies, delectable food, feel good music, and some of the hardest working people one can ever have the pleasure of meeting, who refused to stay where life may have placed them, but strived to climb above those circumstances and attempt to carve out a life for themselves and their children. Let me introduce you to the Jamaica that I grew up in and remembered; I remember the endless summer holidays growing up off the Sligoville Road, in a small district called Mt. Moreland, where the playground…

Out of all the multifarious places I have traveled, the Bahamas was by far my favorite trip. I have yet figured out what made the trip so special it is among the beautiful sights I saw during my trip or the even beautiful souls I spent the trip with; my high school basketball team. We went to the Bahamas with one mission, to win the entire tournament; but we accomplished much more. We bonded with one another and experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity. The memories that I made during my trip will forever be in the back of my mind.…

So, it all began at the airport, looking out of the window I could see our plane, It was a bit intimidating and I was really nervous because this was going to be my first time on a plane. From smelling the salty waters by the Florida Keys, seeing all of the green from the stems of green beans growing, the flavor of the freshest eggs you could get from the coop in the backyard, to the avocado tree growing in the backyard, my trip to Florida had become one of the greatest life experiences I’ve had yet. Visiting Florida taught me many skills on being independent, mentally, and how easy and fun it is just to be to yourself sometimes. It all started Christmas eve when I got home to find my presents from “Santa” there before we even went to bed. My parents had planned on taking a vacation to Florida for Christmas break to see my grandparents, but we were unable to also get my parents there.…
