When I landed in San Diego, I couldn't hold the excitement in my seat. I just wanted to get out of the plane and hop into that taxi. The airport was overcrowded with eager people just like me. Everyone had somewhere to be, I did too. That place is with Vic.
I quickly signaled a taxi once I exited the airport and gave the driver my destination. Without another second to waste, he drove me away from the airport and into the city. There was a car wreck up front, keeping everyone on the road far too long. A small part of me hoped all is well, but the other just wanted to get moving. I was getting so impatient that I even considered going on foot. Of course, I'd probably look like a complete idiot if I did that.
I'm so anxious to see Vic's reaction when I show up at his office. He doesn't know I was released today. He thinks I'm being released tomorrow and that he'll pick me up from the airport. Of course, I just told him that to surprise him.
Once traffic started moving forward, I couldn't help but let out an exasperated breath. I was on the edge of my seat for the rest of the ride, and when I saw that familiar building come up, my smile shined
