“I can't wait until I get to leave for my vacation tonight!” I exclaimed. It was the summer of 2014 and I was counting down the hours until I left on my Cooperstown vacation. I was going to visit New Jersey, New York City, and Pittsburgh on my way to Cooperstown. My parents couldn’t get me to Pittsburgh, so, I went with one of my teammates.…
As the daughter of parents who love to travel, I’ve had the pleasure of travelling across Canada and America as well as a few other countries from a young age. I have visited the loud and bustling streets of Tokyo and the ethereal gardens in Kyoto, stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon, walked the strip in Las Vegas, and watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean in Martha’s Vineyard. Although I should be able to look back on a childhood filled with events and memories from trips, I find it difficult to recall most vacations without a visual prompt. When I flip through old family photo albums, I don’t recall much more than what is shown in their pages. The outdated clothing, the people, and the locations are seen in the images, and therefore…
In 2011 my family and I took a trip out West in an RV. My family consists of my parents, older brother Patrick ( now a sophomore at Madison), younger brother Declan ( now a sophomore at MUHS), and my younger sister Nora ( now in 8th grade). We were all there for this trip just younger. On our trip one of the main attractions we stopped at for a few days was at the Grand Teton National Park in Jackson Hole Wyoming. The Tetons are a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming.…
I had many powerful experiences during our field study trip to Cape Cod. It was a wonderful experience, and I learned so much in those five days. However, there were a few salient experiences I had that stood out among the others. These three moments combined cumulated into an overall experience that had a significant and lasting impact on my future thesis goals.…
It was the worst smell in the world, but gladly we were close to a McDonalds. So when we stopped we got some food, went to the bathroom, and my mom had changed the baby. When we set off again it was a quiet car ride, I was listening to music, my older brother fell asleep, and my little brother was throwing his toys onto my lap and I had to give them back, but if I did not he would start to wine. Although after some time I got tired and fell asleep. Not much happened during that time except for the part that I was sleeping and it was raining.…
On July 6th my family and I went to Raging Waters. We all got prepared for the trip. We went in the car and drove to Raging Waters. It took fifteen minutes to go to Raging Waters.…
As I said “goodbye” to Johns Creek, I began venturing on a new journey. I would have slept on the long 8-hour expedition if not for the spectacular books that we had brought on the trip. As I grabbed the first book, it was like winning the best of the best. The book could keep someone busy for an entire 3 hours. The experience was as if the book was talking to me.…

Journey to Florida I woke up with the glowing sun shining in my face and I realized it was time. I had been waiting for this since the first time my sister asked me to go with her, about four months ago. My sister, our friends, and I piled up in the van and we took off. It was the beginning of our journey to Panama City Beach Florida.…
It was a slow moving watercourse most of the year but in the spring it flowed with force, swollen with the winter melt and emptying its contents into the Columbia River, before moving downstream onto Cascade Locks. At this time of the year the river was halfway to being frozen. The better part of Autumn was finished and the trees following the river were stark and almost leafless, the colorful reds and yellows of The Fall giving way to a brown carpet of mush. Today the black water was unhurried, its surface pockmarked by raindrops with the occasional swirl to draw attention to its icy currents.…

Florida During summer vacation, in the year 2011 my family and I went on a trip to Florida to meet up with some of our relatives. This was my first time ever going to Florida and I was really excited to go. But one of us had to stay home and take care of our pets, so my dad stayed home to take care of them. It took about half a day for us to get ready to go and like 4 or 5 hours until we were out of Michigan. My brothers and I would stay up all night to see how cool the city looked at night.…
