Personal Narrative: My Trip To Orlando, Florida

Decent Essays
I remember one year on winter break my mom just wanted to get out of town since we hadn’t gone anywhere for awhile. She did her research and decided that she wanted to go to Florida. She had heard about an amusement park called Universal Studios. It was located in Orlando, Florida. I was kind of nervous to be going that far away from home because I had never traveled long distances in my life before. I knew the trip wasn’t going to be fun either, as it’s over 18 hours away, 1200 miles there and back. Good thing my mom rented a pretty comfortable car for the drive(she didn’t want to put miles on her car). Universal Studios is right in the middle of Orlando, a city in the center of Florida. Orlando is home to more than 100 parks! And to match …show more content…
Too bad that it was cold out, but we went in the water anyway. I remember that I had bought a mini surfboard, but I forgot to even use it…
I remember that we drove by the Daytona 500 and my mom told me about how our neighbors often visited there.
I remember we stayed at the El Caribe Resort & Conference Center, and we were almost on the top floor. It was really nice on the inside. It had a decent sized balcony and you could see the pool below it and further on we saw the North Atlantic Ocean.
When we went to Universal Studios, it was a very big environment. There are rides everywhere and so many people. You could only walk so fast with all the people. Some rides would take a really long time to actually get on. Most of them were worth the wait and my family enjoyed. I remember there was one rollercoaster that was so enormous I was too scared to even imagine riding on it. This swirly rollercoaster was called The Hulk. In the link below you can watch the point of view of the front row seats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsjdYQJc748 I waited on the bottom and watched while my sister and my mom went because it was to much for me, which I now regret due to the fact that it looks awesome! I love roller coasters. There are plenty of those at Walt Disney. They never like to disappoint anyone. Just in case you are not a big roller coaster fan, it does not mean there is nothing for you they have parades of all sorts, fireworks, shows, and you can even pay people to give tours too. They will tell you all about what rides to do, how Walt Disney (the creator of all things Disney) thought of everything, and how he got the idea of the incredible Walt Disney World.…

One of the first things I remember about going on that trip is looking down at my feet and thinking that I would die if I fell. I was nine and very light-headed at the time. It was the winter of 2009 and one of the first times I had ever gone to Colorado. The drive there took about 6 hours from our house so you can imagine my excitement at finally getting out of the car as an inpatient nine-year-old. We were renting a small two story log cabin with a hot tub on the second- floor balcony from a family that had a winter home somewhere in Florida.…

Then the third gate was the worst, who could hear people screaming their heads off, and feel the ground shake like there was an earthquake, and it was our turn next!!! I was TERRIFIED, Claire had fingernail marks in her arm, and as our cart emptied of the people before us, I got light headed, I vaguely remember getting in and buckled. I started to take deep breaths I was starting to feel better when I felt how secure the harnesses were. But then we started to move, at first it was okay, slow and easy going around the first corner, but then I saw the unbelievable hill that was 170 ft tall, this ride brakes 7 different records in the world and one is it’s got the longest drop for a wing coaster!!! Slowly climbing to the top, felt longer than the car ride!…

Florida During summer vacation, in the year 2011 my family and I went on a trip to Florida to meet up with some of our relatives. This was my first time ever going to Florida and I was really excited to go. But one of us had to stay home and take care of our pets, so my dad stayed home to take care of them. It took about half a day for us to get ready to go and like 4 or 5 hours until we were out of Michigan. My brothers and I would stay up all night to see how cool the city looked at night.…

Walt Disney World Versus Universal Studios Orlando Orlando, Florida is the most popular tourist destination for families and teens seeking theme parks. From the time I was a little girl, the most exciting part of the year was when my mom would reveal our summer trip. It was either Universal and Islands of Adventure or Disney World; and both were equally exciting. Out of the multitude of Orlando theme parks, Universal Studios and Walt Disney World are the two most attended. Although they do have some similarities, such as rides and family friendliness, they are both very different.…
