Personal Narrative: My Trip To North Carolina

Improved Essays
North Carolina I couldn’t sleep. I was about to be to the beach house any minute. That night I was so excited I got NO sleep.I was with my mom, dad, and my brother Drew. I was heading to North Carolina. It was a 16 hour drive from Byron Center. The only bad thing is that I was so bored and tired ( because I couldn’t sleep)but I also couldn’t wait!!About half way there I was about to just run out of the car. But the car ride was totally worth it.

As we pulled into the driveway and I was ecstatic!! It was like a dream come true, ecaspilally when I got out of the car and was able to stretch my legs. I knew I was gonna have a lot of of fun!! And I was right, I did have a lot of fun. The beach house was right by the water I could feel the ocean breeze. The beach house was also very cute and very beachy/ homey feelings. I couldn’t wait to go to the beach.

After a half-hour drive, we were at the lake we were scoping out for my Grandma. We found her right away in her fluorescent pink stand-up jet-ski and her matching life-jacket. Crab Hole As I walked along the road, excitement coursing through me, I started to get closer to the beach. I took in everything around me, the sand already digging into my feet, the mountain in the distance, covered with lush green trees and full of vibrant colorful flowers. I could smell the scent of salt in the air, watching the rolling waves of blue, clear water. I breathed in the fresh air and said to myself, ”This is what Hawaii smells like.”…

Since i was 6 years old i have had two lives. One is confined to the months of june through august, the months of fireflies and bikinis. I live my summer life as a free spirit on lake Winnipesaukee NH. I wake up at 5 am, watch the sunrise, drink green tea, venture through the mountains of New Hampshire, dance in the rain, and spend days painting at the end of the dock. I swim in the lake with my siblings until our shoulders burn and eat melting ice cream cones until our stomachs hurt, loving every minute.…

I could hear the palm trees waving along the wind as if they were whispering to each other in a hush. As I ran across the beach, the wind whipped my face and blew my hair back. Waves lapped against the shoreline creating an intricate pattern along the smooth sand. Innumerable milky and puffy clouds floated over the blue skies creating mountains and white silky sheep. As I gazed across the endless sands, the sun was beginning to rise.…

I was shocked into the deepness of the water and the colors. After the trip to the beach that morning, (which by the way was just down the street) we took a hard earned rest. I laid on the couch but sleep did not come, or perhaps, I did not let it come. After what felt like an eternity, we finally got ready to go on our first swimming trip to the beach! I was so excited that I was telling my mom to drive faster!…

I just couldn't get enough. I could float out in the water and feel the rhythm of the ocean forever. The fish would swim by and brush my ankles. The dolphins would play in the waves in front of me, sometimes if the water was clear enough I could see a stingray sweeping the ocean floor like a zamboni sweeping the ice with great ease. I would walk up and down the shore looking for…

This year the beach of choice was the Outer Banks, off the coast of North Carolina. At the time we were living in Maryland, so the drive was about six hours and since my brother and I were getting older it was easy for my parents to do trips further away from home because we wouldn’t be so antsy in the car. There was so much build up for this trip. I would be going into a state I had never been too before and it was the end of the school year. Everything was just lining up perfect.…
