Decent Essays
A time in my life that I would like to go back to is when my dad, my sister, our dog and, I went to Moab,Utah. I was 13 a couple days away from turning 14. It was about a 18 hour drive there. The trip lasted about a week. The week was full with so many things that we had almost no free time at all.
We had to leave at 11:00 pm and we drove all throughout the night only stopping for gas and food. Our first stop was Moab. The first thing the we did was go out to eat at the moab dinner and then on some jeep trails. My favorite one being poison spider mesa one of the main sights on the trail was pig rock, I also drove on a trail called baby lions back. Then we went to downtown Moab. while there we went to the T-shirt shop,They have the best stickers

President Barack Obama once said “When all American are treated as equal, no matter who they are or who they love, we are all more free.” As a Hispanic LGBTQ American, these words resonated with me. In my exposure to a plethora of cultures, in my personal experience and academic career, I have had the privilege to understand and further appreciate many lifestyles. Through these experiences, my mission: to serve toward compassion and respect, rather than intolerance and isolation, has remained clear. These past 8 years, Obama has been a champion for LGBTQ+ Americans.…

I was only 14 when I went on my mission trip, but experiencing that such a young age has shaped me for who I am. I was involved in three mission trips, which all occurred in the States, but in all three-mission trips I helped people who I believe needed it most. I was proud of what I did and I think it was something that not a lot of people did at my age. One of my biggest motivators were the people I was helping. After going on my first trip, I had bonded with others and had made me realize what the real world is like outside a small town in Iowa.…

The thing about running is that you hate it until it’s over, at least for me that’s true. Personally, I like running, and it gives me a chance to get out and work towards something. All throughout high school, I’ve run track, and for two years I ran cross-country, both are great sports. The two years I ran cross-country made me wish I ran all four years. If you’re part of more than one sport, it’s natural to choose a favorite.…

I spent six of my summers growing up at an all girls camp called Wavus. Wavus is a wilderness tripping camp in Maine based out of my hometown, Jefferson. Living in Jefferson, I did not obtain a great deal of exposure to other people from the country, let alone other parts of the world. When I went to Wavus I was put in a cabin with girls from all over the United States and even one from Belgium. Having to live with these girls for a month each summer enabled me to become close friends with them and learn about their lives.…

One of the first things I remember about going on that trip is looking down at my feet and thinking that I would die if I fell. I was nine and very light-headed at the time. It was the winter of 2009 and one of the first times I had ever gone to Colorado. The drive there took about 6 hours from our house so you can imagine my excitement at finally getting out of the car as an inpatient nine-year-old. We were renting a small two story log cabin with a hot tub on the second- floor balcony from a family that had a winter home somewhere in Florida.…

In January of last year I went on a trip to Colorado on a "college visit" with a friend and my father to University of Colorado Boulder. We left Wednesday night, skipping school both Thursday and Friday. We did go to the college and took a tour of the campus on Thursday which I greatly enjoyed, it is beautiful out there and at elevation there is very little humidity. The true intention of the trip, as important as the college visit was, was to go to Breckenridge Resort and spend the weekend snowboarding. A couple of my dad's friends were also going and we were going to share their timeshare.…

I wish I could go back to the year 2000, when I had no worries about bills, or school because I was still young, I still had my grandparents, and my parents were better off on bills and life in general. The year 2000 was the best year of my life that I wish I could relive. The main reason I would want to go back to the year 2000 is because I was young and had no worries of school, or bills. It is the year 2016 and I am in debt three hundred dollars, this came from my truck payment, and it’s insurance while keeping up with paying for gas.…

Florida During summer vacation, in the year 2011 my family and I went on a trip to Florida to meet up with some of our relatives. This was my first time ever going to Florida and I was really excited to go. But one of us had to stay home and take care of our pets, so my dad stayed home to take care of them. It took about half a day for us to get ready to go and like 4 or 5 hours until we were out of Michigan. My brothers and I would stay up all night to see how cool the city looked at night.…

My vision started to fail on mile four of the six-mile hike. Small white specks flickered across my field of vision. The next thing to go was my hearing, followed by my ability to walk in a straight line. My platoon sergeant saw the signs of heat stroke and forced me to stop. I should have stopped myself, but all I could think was: you will finish this, or you will die trying.…
