Personal Narrative: My Trip To Martinsville

Decent Essays
On Monday, I went to Martinsville to pick up my boyfriend then we went to Greenwood Mall and got to spend the five hours up there and then his work called him and said he had to go in at 4. When we got to his work he wanted me to meet some of his co-workers. Most of his co-workers are nice. Then I got home around 6 o’clock. Then on Tuesday I mostly just rested, besides I went to Silver Oaks at 3:30 and helped out there until 4:30. On Wednesday, I made two Pumpkin Pies and then watched a movie with my cousin. I forget the name of the movie the only thing I remember was that there was a couple that lived close by one and another then they started dating then got married and had a baby. GREAT MOVIE! On Thanksgiving, I went to Bob Evans with my

For two weeks, I stayed in Charleston, South Carolina. I didn’t know much about the place, except that I referred to it as an army town because that’s where my sister and her husband, who was in the military, stayed. I was reluctant to go, but Charleston had a lot to offer me; a new change of pace and some new scenery was much more satisfying than spending the two weeks stuck in Iowa doing the same old routine. The weather was mystical in Charleston.…

Moving across Florida, away from my parents was a dramatic event, and it took some getting use too. Living away from my parents, made me feel grown and mature like I had my whole life in my hands with nobody there to always tell me what to do. I, now live with my aunt and uncle, attending Titusville High School. I am a part time college student and also acquire high school credits with my courses at the college.…

A mixture of mud, blood, and dust coated our bodies; to my left and right, cannonballs flew at us. Though we knew not how or when we were going to succeed, we just knew that we had to succeed. Every hardship I had gone through had led to this moment, every hardship I went through had made me become this person. I am Lafayette, and if socialising, sailing the terrifying sea, and living in Valley Forge couldn't shake me, then no British army would.…

I am from a town close to Statesboro, and Georgia Southern is the school my dad went to. I grew up hearing stories about the fun times that he had here, and anytime we came to Statesboro he would take me around campus and show me his old dorm, apartment, and class buildings. My favorite story to listen to him tell is about the watermelon that would be cut and given out to all of the students. I fell in love with the school in his stories, and when I was given the chance to choose, I picked Georgia Southern. I duel enrolled at Georgia Southern for two years before I was enrolled as an official college student.…

One of the first things I remember about going on that trip is looking down at my feet and thinking that I would die if I fell. I was nine and very light-headed at the time. It was the winter of 2009 and one of the first times I had ever gone to Colorado. The drive there took about 6 hours from our house so you can imagine my excitement at finally getting out of the car as an inpatient nine-year-old. We were renting a small two story log cabin with a hot tub on the second- floor balcony from a family that had a winter home somewhere in Florida.…

West Virginia So the thing is I am just a twiggy white girl perhaps too oblivious to handle the poverty stricken sectors of West Virginia. And while this may be true, I also know that I have a God big enough to expand across any social, or economic boundary that we may face. I also believe that I am-- or will be-- prepared to undergo such an experience. My goal is to grow to learn more about the culture of the city, to pull myself into the best place with Christ I can be, and to trust in my knowledge and experience I do have.…

I’ve lived my entire life in Indiana, as have my parents. My mom and dad were raised close to Monroe and went to Adams Central, where they met and fell in love. They ended up moving north to Fort Wayne where they had my sister and I. We began our schooling in FWCS, but we moved farther north to the tiny town of Huntertown later, which led to my sister and I switching to NACS for my high schooling and her middle and high schooling. Due to all of the events that have happened here in Indiana throughout my life, and due to most of my immediate family living in the area, I have a desire to continue living and working here.…

Courthouse Visit On Tuesday, November 8th I visited the Price County Courthouse in Phillips, WI were the honorable Douglas T. Fox presided. Judge Fox is a circuit court judge which is an elected positon and he is currently serving his sixth term. I was not aware that Judge Fox was an elected official until I did research on his background, but I feel that this is a good way for the people to pick a judge that will be fair and impartial and has similar views as the public.…

For instance, there was a carving of Spongebob and Elmo too. It was a pretty cool experience to me, and we also saw a deer. That night, we had went to a steakhouse to eat at for dinner.
