Watching the youth roam around the streets asking for food and seeing families living at a dumpsite, was big impact on my perspective on life. The things I take for granted such as education, having internet, and running hot water, are not easily accessible for the people in Nicaragua. I wanted to give back somehow and this was going to be through our Community Action Project.
This project was my favorite aspect about Global Glimpse. After we assigned our teams, we headed off to a local preschool to begin a huge overhaul of the school. Specifically, I was assigned in the gardening team. Having never done gardening I relied on my teammates for support. Though initially our plans for the gardening didn’t go out well due to low water shortage, the locals came in for the rescue. They gave us techniques to keep the ground wet and even helped us build the fence. In the end, I was proud of what we
